Two Kinds of People

Two Kinds of People

There are two kinds of people;
Living here in this world.
The children of the darkness;
or the children of the Lord.

One lives, but yet He is dead;
While one has been raised anew.
Life is found in Christ alone;
And it’s offered now to you.

The children of light and life;
Were born into a family.
They became children of God;
They were blind, but now they see.

One day their eyes were opened;
One day they found life.
They found peace like a river;
And comfort in the night.

For just as the first man;
Received breath in His lungs.
And life filled His body;
And speech came from his tongue.

Those lost in the darkness;
Are spiritually dead.
But Jesus has offered;
His Salvation instead.

Do you know He gave His life;
Upon a cruel, cruel tree?
He shed His precious blood;
For both you and for me.

He is reaching from heaven;
And He speaks tenderly.
“I will save you, I love you;
Just put your trust in me.”

The grave could not hold Him;
So Salvation now reigns.
It’s offered to all;
And must be proclaimed.

Rare Flowers

Rare Flowers

If I found beautiful rare flowers;
I’d share this beauty with you.
In hopes that you would receive it;
And enjoy its fine beauty too.

God is the God of miracles;
This saying, though old, is true.
From the gleaming sun of creation;
To the loveliest orchid of blue.

From whispering winds of refreshment;
To showering splashes of streams.
From beautiful fields of flowers;
Colorful rainbows, bright stars and dreams.

Each an amazing miracle;
Bringing faith to a doubting heart.
God’s hand has created great fountains;
In dry cold desert places of dark.

On dead soil, a desert lay waste;
Until the hand of God intervenes.
The miracle hand of God’s grace;
Sprouts flowers in places not seen.

I have, found beautiful rare flowers;
Not known to the natural man.
Found in the places of God’s touch.
Flowers of faith, I hold in my clutch.

I will not keep this treasure to self;
But cast their beauty to the wind.
And ask the Lord to direct their flow.
Empty deserts, may you bloom and grow.

And as the Lord looked upon the deep;
A lifeless flow without form or void.
Transformed the dead, to light and life;
Filled with flowers, now so enjoyed.

I know a heart can be flowerless;
Dead and dark, in coldness and despair.
But the God of miracles and love;
Transforms, and makes alive, He cares.

Replaces the stones of deadness,
Replaces the spaces of dread,
With New Life, and fountains of His Joy;
He raises a soul from the dead.

Please take the flowers of kindness.
Please receive the flower of Grace.
Jesus died and arose in power.
Your heart can be transformed this hour.

May your heart bloom and shine in His grace;
When you see His gift of love so true.
Let the flower of faith bring life to you.
His great Salvation, will make you new.

Ephesians
2:8-10
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Sundrops In My Garden - Letter

Sundrops In My Garden - Letter

Susan Y Nikitenko

This is a letter I gave to people in our neighborhood along with a potted Sundrop plant in bloom and a copy of my poem: "Sundrops In My Garden."

Dear Neighborhood Friends,

I would like to share a tidbit or two about my gardens.

I'm enjoying my garden this year. One of my favorite flowers is the fireworks primrose.

  It has a cluster of bright yellow flowers that explode mid spring to mid summer. They are shining in my garden right now. This beautiful flower has three different names, it's scientific name, which I know not, the fireworks primrose and the name I love to call them....Sundrops. The're like little smiles that say Jesus loves you. They brighten up your whole garden. Hopefully we are like sun drops shining out there in a mixed up world, in a lost world that needs to find the Way. The way to heaven, The way to forgiveness, the way to hope, the way to God Almighty, Jehovah, The God of heaven, creator God. That Way is Jesus, Jesus said about Himself, I am the Way, The Truth, The Life -no man cometh unto the Father but by me. Jesus is the light of this dark, dark world. Christians need to brighten every corner. I know I've failed in many ways along life's way , but I know where my desire lies and that is to shine for Him. I'm so glad Jesus is my hope and my life. Because He has forgiven me and given me a new name. I am His forever child, and you can be His child too. Let our desire be to shine in His amazing love, by following His plan set out in His Word.

I sure feel regret for all the times I've let my Jesus down, but this wonderful flower reminds me of my Savior. When the flower dies the leaves turn a beautiful red and this reminds me of His shed blood for all of mankind. He offers peace, pardon, forgiveness and a home in heaven for all who will believe. True belief causes action. If you thought the sky were falling your belief would move you to shelter. If you believed your child was in danger it would move you to act. If you believed in a dangerous unrepentant hell you would run to God for salvation. Then that belief would move you to live a life pleasing your Savoir.

  Another wonderful thing about this flower is that it comes back every year with more and more blooms. We need to tell others about Jesus and His precious love. We need to be multiplying the kingdom of heaven. Giving the Good news of Jesus Christ- The Story of His bloodshed for sinners and His resurrection.

  Just as my sundrops return every spring.. I know my Jesus will be returning very soon to take His children home. Will you be ready?

  Be living out the purpose you were born to live, turn to Him with your heart and trust Him. Do things His way. Live your life, His way. Follow His plan. We are not promised tomorrow, this could be your last day, your last moment, turn to Him.

I Hope you enjoy your sundrops.

Love In Christ, Susan Nikitenko

John 3:16-18 says

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 1: 1-9 Says

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

Sundrops In My Garden

(Also Known as Fireworks Primrose )
By: Susan Y Nikitenko
June 2010

Shining in my garden;
Like smiles everywhere.
Are Bright Yellow Sundrops;
Examples of God's care.

They brightly grace my garden;
They give my heart a lift.
Cause I know they're precious;
And given as a gift.

Jesus is the Son of God;
He is the Way, the light.
He is like a Sundrop;
That blossoms very bright

He gives the burdened joy;
He sets the captive free.
He shines into the heart;
and saves so willingly.

Won't you be a sundrop,
In life's garden, to grow?
Will you Shine for Jesus
In His love will you go ?

Will you tell the story
Of His blood shed for men?
Will you sacrifice your time
And give your all to Him?

When the sundrop is done;
and It's leaves turn blood red.
Please Remember dear friend;
What our Savior once said.

"It is finished", He cried ;
With His blood flowing free.
and His hands stretched out wide;
on that torturous tree.

He gave himself for you;
He gave himself for me.
He arose from the dead;
and won the victory.

Available to all;
A life beautifully new.
His hand is extended;
While He calls now to you.

While watching from heaven;
perhaps Angels display.
Heavenly Fireworks;
When one sinner is saved.

Will you trust Him today?
Will you cry out His name?
Will you bow to His will:
Or remain now, the same?

Won't you be a sundrop,
In life's garden, to grow?
Will you Shine for Jesus
In His love will you go ?

Will you tell the story
Of His blood shed for men ?
Will you sacrifice your time;
And give your all to Him?

“What Must One Do to Be Reborn?”

“What Must One Do to Be Reborn?”

While reaching out to win the lost;
  We reached out with the Word.
We gave the gospel here and there;
To some we seemed absurd.

A man stopped by upon a cane;
This man, He was not old.
He listened, hard to all my words;
The gospel to him told.

A man, he must be born again;
To enter heavens gate.
Repent my friend and turn to God;
Before it is too late.

His eyes, they looked straight into mine;
With seeking words, he asked.
“What must one do to be reborn?”
Stunned with his words, I gasped.

Oh, joyful day, a seeking heart;
Who truly wants to know.
This humble man cried out to God;
Christ washed him white as snow.

He said to me, I almost died;
A car wreck changed my life.
Within the wreckage my heart cried,
“My children and my wife!”

My sinful life flashed before me;
The fear I felt was true.
“Please Lord,” I cried, “Don’t let me die.”
“I’ll give my life to you.”

“Today is my new beginning,”
That’s what he said to me.
And off  He limped upon his cane;
Saved for eternity.

Saved In a Snowstorm ~ Christmas Poem

Saved In a Snowstorm
( version 2)

Flurry, scurry, everywhere
the falling snow, does blow.
A flock of geese a swaying
fall to the earth below.

Doubting man, says to his wife
“Don’t ask me to believe.”
“Why would God, come down to us,
a sinful world receive?”

Hurting wife, she goes to church;
her heart down in despair.
Crying out to God above
“Show him, Lord, you care.”

Her husband hears a noise outside,
Honking geese trapped in the snow;
Cold, confused, alone,
While cold winds whip and blow.

Compassion speaking to his heart,
“Those wandering geese need saved.”
He bundled up to go outside.
He called to them and waved.

Blowing sharply, wintry winds;
He tried to call and guide.
They simply would not listen,
Though a door stood open wide.

Frustrated and greatly grieved,
He said, in words so dim,
“The only way to save the geese,
Is by becoming one of them.”

He fell upon his knees, that day,
In wintry blowing snow.
Cried out to God, “I understand”
Your love!, I see!, I know!”

God so gracious and so kind;
in compassion, heart felt love,
He came down, to dwell with man
And left His home above.

Taking on our human flesh;
He felt our human pain.
Died upon, a wooden cross;
For sinners, He was slain.

No greater love, there’s ever been;
Than that of this Great One.
In Human Flesh, Our loving God,
Sent us His only Son.

John 1:14 (Whole Chapter)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Written by an unknown Author

Play Ideas:

Children dress up like geese
Instead of angels;  A Geese Choir

Still have a few angels for the manger scene;

Snow cutouts hanging from ceiling;

Blizzard Sound Effects

Snowy background.

Have your normal manger scene presentation after the slow reading
of Saved in a Snowstorm.

Silent acting  or repeat dialog along with reading;  along with reading.  The children can honk, The man can pray.

7 Facts and 7 Lessons Learned From Geese

Fact 1:
As each goose flaps its wings it creates an “uplift” for the birds that follow. By flying in “V” formation, the whole flock adds 71 percent greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.

Lesson:
People who share a common direction and a sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

Fact 2:
When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back up into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately ahead of it.

Lesson:
If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.

Fact 3:
When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into formation and another goose flies to the point position.

Lesson:
It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people are interdependent on each other’s skills, capabilities and unique arrangements of gifts, talents, or resources.

Fact 4:
The geese flying in formation honk to encourage each of those up front to keep up their speed.

Lesson:
We need to make sure our honking is encouraging. In groups where there is encouragement, the production is much greater. The power of encouragement (to stand by one’s heart or core values and encourage the heat and core of others) is the quality of honking we seek.

Fact 5:
When a goose gets sick, wounded or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation, or catch up with the flock.

Lesson:
If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong.

Fact 6:
Geese fly South for the winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

Lesson:
It is a reminder to take a break from the cold of winter and take a vacation to some place warm & sunny to rejuvenate ourselves.

Fact 7:
The larger flocks of geese usually inhabit areas where geese eating for humans is more popular or in demand, and where there are smaller flocks of geese flying, there is usually smaller demand for geese, to be used for human food. * This fact according to the Oklahoma State University Board of Regents study on geese.

Lesson:
Larger flocks of humans together may not always be as effective as smaller flocks who are able to maneuver much more quickly in life and business without being eaten up by the competition…so to speak. (yes, this was a stretch, but relevant, no?)

Dear Jesus

Treasure Box ~ Jesus Our Friend

Dear Jesus
By: Susan Y Nikitenko
September 20th, 2011
********
Dear Jesus,  You're my best friend;
You're the song in my heart.
You're the reason I'm forgiven;
You won't let me fall apart.

Dear Jesus,  You're my captain;
You're the boat that I sail.
You're the reason that I'm living;
You've snatched my soul from hell.

Dear Jesus, You're my mountain;
You're faithfulness  endures.
I know I can trust your love;
I know I'm safe and secure.

Dear Jesus,  You're my blue sky;
You shine in my heart today.
Because when I worship you;
All the dark clouds roll away.

Dear Jesus,  You're the fountain;
That flows eternally.
All that drink of your  water.
Will  find faith and hope in thee.
 CHORUS:
You're my ocean,  that flows strong;
You're grace rides on the waves.
You're serene,  gives us a peace;
You are the power that saves.

Dear Jesus,  You're my best friend;
And the friend of all who trust you.
You are the reason for life;
I pray, I will always please you.
We can feel secure in knowing He has a greater plan even through suffering and difficulties.  God has a reason for the problems we face.  We can feel secure in that He said, " I will never leave thee."
We can feel secure in knowing that God never lies and that we can count on His promises.  We can feel secure in that nothing can pluck us out of His hand and that we have a home prepared for us.
He will not leave His children comfortless.   ~ Susan Nikitenko
