When Things Look Like Something They Are Not

Just A Little Note

When Things Look Like Something They're Not

There are a number of things that happen throughout life that can look like something it's not.  I have a few examples in mind.

A couple years ago we helped a neighbor with a garage sale.  My daughters and I brought cards and played during the slow hours of the day.   I've played this card game since I was a kid.
We don't bet money when we play the game, because we don't gamble, We just like playing the game.  On a particular day we were playing, the cards were dealt and customers came in to look.   Someone noticed my cards and asked what we were playing and we told him we were playing rummy.

After He left the sale, I looked at my hand, which I had held up the whole time.  I noticed I had two aces and they were both spades.   I couldn't believe it, It looked as though  I was cheating.  You know the old saying "He has an ace up his sleeve."     We stopped the game, counted the cards, and found an extra ace in the deck.  This wasn't planned, sometimes we play other games that require three decks of cards, somehow one just got put in the wrong place.

Sometimes things happen by accident, I just had to put it in God's hands,  if that man thought I was cheating and if he did he was wrong.

Now when you're having a garage sale at someone else's house, many people may come in and not know it isn't your home.  The owner of the home was selling small liquor bottles and when I saw them I became concerned someone may think I was having a nip every now and then.  Well, I don't drink and my family doesn't either.  The point is sometimes it could look like someone has been drinking and they haven't been.

I can think of a time we went to Good-Will to shop, When we  were finished shopping we left carrying a box and noticed, after we had carried it all the way to our car, that we were advertising for a beer product.

I'm sure if there were any gossipers around who knew us, they would have had a hay day with that one.

I can think of many other things that have happened through the years that could've caused someone to believe something that isn't true.

One of the things I did when my kids were little was I kept after them to take their vitamins.  Now that I'm older, I feel God has turned things around on me because my husband is telling me to take mine.
When we took a flight to Hawaii, on our early twenty-fifth anniversary, He pulled out a baggy of pills, "vitamins".  I was concerned someone would think we were doing drugs or something.  It just looked like a lot of pills in one bag and could have looked suspicious to someone.
Someone could have jumped to the conclusion that we were doing  drugs, but they would have been wrong
because we don't do drugs.  Vitamins and sinus tablets do not count if they are for sinus aggravation only.

Now many say we shouldn't worry about what others think about us.  I don't think we should worry, but we should care to a certain extent, because our lives DO impact others and their choices in life.

There was a time a year or so ago.  I looked at a picture of my nephew, He looked angered and it looked like he was holding a gun.  I became concerned, not out of criticism for him, but because I care about him,  but it was a reflection shining off a CD he was holding, that made it look like a gun.
I said something about it, "thinking it was a gun."  It looked like a gun, but it wasn't, so I had to apologize and felt foolish for saying anything, especially because I thought someone was upset with me.

When it comes to seemingly accidental  instances like this and the other things I mentioned, We just have  to trust God, that He will work things out, protect us and our reputation.

Believe, Believe In Jesus

Believe, Believe In Jesus

Jesus loves people like me;
He loves people like you.
Merciful love was given;
Godly  love from heaven.

Jesus  gave His life for me;
He gave his life for you.
Heaven's  perfect gift , so true;
He wants to walk with you.

Just give your life to Jesus:
Follow now in His steps.
There's no  love more real or known;
It's a relationship.

He comes and abides inside;
He changes us each day.
He sees us, He knows our name;
He hears us when we pray.

Believe, believe in Jesus;
Putting your trust in Him.
We become a child of God;
We become born again.

Believe, believe in Jesus;
He is the living Way.
He's the life that fills the soul.
Come trust Jesus today.

Believe, believe in Jesus;
Believe , receive, Jesus.
Jesus loves people like you:
He loves people like  -- US.

No Other Answer

No Other Answer

There's no better love;
There's no better friend:
There's no better way;
For you to begin.

He's the King of kings;
He's the Lord of lord.
He will give you strength;
In this wayward world.

Friends will let you down;
Tears may fall like rain.
But God is faithful;
He brings hope again.

Don't go the wrong way;
Please don't fall away;
In His loving arms:
Is the place to stay.

Jesus is our joy;
He's for you to know.
            Give Him first place:
His love fills the soul.

No other answer;
In a temp'ral world.
The answer for hope?
Make Jesus your Lord.

Alone On Christmas Day

Alone On Christmas Day

She grieved, she wept , but her faith was kept;
She knew Jesus is real.
She struggled with fear and anger was there;
Did not know how to feel.

But she put up her tree, with bows so pretty;
But cried, "Why did you die?"
In tears she would pray, the grieving away;
And she told him goodbye.

She lit a candle to honor the Lord;
Though she longed for her spouse.
While music was played , she sang Christmas praise;
And danced throughout her house.

Feeling sad and distressed, in loneliness;
She danced her pain away.
She found comfort, relief, in God's sweet peace;
Alone on Christmas day.

Love No Sweeter

Love No Sweeter

 Hearts or roses;
Pedals or  posies.
Do not compare
To my Valentine.

Love much greater;
Than the stars that shine.
Love no sweeter;
Than my Valentine.

Like the honey:
From the honeycomb,
Like the water;
From a sparkling spring;

The love of God;
How precious, how calm.
Resting in love;
Under His wings.

Love much greater;
Than the stars that shine.
Love no sweeter;
Than my Valentine.

The Kind Of Love That Will Never End

The Kind Of Love That Will Never End

When thorns tore through his sweaty brow;
When with faces, they jeered with hateful growls.
Beating Him beyond recognition;
Submitting to God, He was being our friend.

He was willing to pay the price;
It was love, true love, there was no other way.
No greater love, no greater friend;
The kind of love, that will never end.

 When the first nail was pounded down,
When the first drop of blood fell to the ground;
When His hands stretched from end to end;
When He was dying  there for our sin.

He was willing to pay the price;
It was love, true love, when he gave his life.
No greater love, no greater friend;
The kind of love, that will never end.

When the spear was thrust into His side;
When the Son of God began to die.
He lifted himself upon wounded hands;
Father forgive them was His cry.

He was willing to pay the price;
It was love, true love, love more than kind.
No greater love, no greater friend;
The kind of love, from God's Valentine.

God Made

God  Made
God made the world and the stars up above;
All things He made, He made them from love.
God made the planets, far, far, far away;
But somehow we know, love made them that way.

God made the rivers to flow from the hills;
He made colorful fish, and schools of bluegill.
Goldfish and bass, trout, perch and crappie.
Love's masterpieces in rivers and seas.

God made each plant to bear it's own seed;
Each vegetable, fruit to supply our need.
With love He took thought in how it would taste;
It had to be love, with which we are graced.

When spring brings it's blooming trees of sweetness;
When winter fades and flowers come to greet us.
When birds build nests ,  we see the tiny birds.
With songs and sounds they speak, but not with words.

Love took the time to give just the right song;
Love placed them within the tree they belong.
Love gave them strong wings, to master in flight;
Each bird formed with care, whether brown or bright.

God made the sun to shine from waters blue;
A rainbow to bless upon a morning new.
The shell to hold upon a child's small ear;
And the smile, that brings our heart some cheer.

It had to be love, that made us a smile;
 To think any other would be denial.
Just as He has formed the child anew;
What masterful things  God's love has hewn.

To know the child has a tiny heartbeat;
Tiny hands, tiny toes on tiny feet.
That can be seen upon a mothers tum;
While she, with love awaits with whispers hum.

God has made a place of jewels and gold;
Where no one will ever die or grow old.
Love took the time to prepare us a place.
It surely is love, with which we are graced.

Yes God has shown His love, His love so grand;
Through pleasures good, through creations plan.
But greater still the love that paid the price;
When God gave Himself, to be sin's sacrifice.

In love He took our nails, He took our shame:
In love He took our guilt, He took the blame.
What  joyful blessings, God's love has given;
God made a  way, for us to be forgiven.

In This Secret Place

In This Secret Place

Devils tremble at the mention of your Name.
Power is in the claiming of your blood;
Bloodshed for the forgiveness of our sins;
Never to be brought against us again.

Oh how you have loved us, with a perfect love;
The powers of hell will never prevail.
Your love is true, from beginning to end;
You are the sinner's  Saviour, dearest  friend.

I cannot count the times you have recued me;
Or sent your angels to watch with care.
How humbled I am at the thought of your grace;
Sweet communion, in this secret place.

Where there is a song, resting on the heart;
Where  there is a prayer  to be prayed.
Listening for the still small voice, from on high;
Abiding, you speak to me on the inside.

Gentle Shepherd, guide this little lamb along;
Help me never wander from the fold.
Fill my heart with your forgiving  ways;
Fill my lips with never ending praise.

When comes time for me to fly away to heaven;
I can sing praises within the wind.
When it's time enter heaven's pearly gates;
I will sing at the feet of my dearest friend.

What Better Way To Start A New Year

What Better Way To Start A New Year

 What better way to start a New Year;
Make Jesus the plan for your life.
This world may offer pleasures or wealth;
But in Jesus there's eternal life.

Jesus is the answer, that is real;
Jesus is the pathway to hope.
The promise given from ancient times;
Because God truly , loves us so.

He's the same as yesterday, you know;
He's never changed since time began.
He was a permanent sacrifice;
He is salvation for ev'ry man.  (mankind)

What better way to start a New Year;
Not in vain, living for the world.
But storing up treasures in heaven:
To cast at the feet of our Lord.

He will not refuse a humble soul;
That comes to Him, with repentance.
He casts our sin, from memory;
Jesus is our greatest defense.

He paid the price for our sin that day;
Each nail, each stripe, each drop of blood.
Each agonizing breath, until death;
For us to live, because of love.

What better way to start a New Year;
Make Jesus the plan for your life.
This world may offer pleasures or wealth;
But in Jesus there's eternal life.

John 10:27-30

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
 I and my Father are one.
