Heaven's Bright Song

Heaven's Bright Song

I stood upon the gap between this  life and eternity;
The sounds of instrumental peace-filled space with harmony.
What will I do, I asked myself, with all that I own, though it's small?
I have not loss, but greater wealth, because I gave my all.

What will I do when I get to heaven?  I'll see His face.
I will set by His feet, like a child, in His loving grace.
I will praise him, praise him, evermore on heaven's golden shore.
The smiles of love will shine, and peace will be forevermore.

Trouble and tears, struggles and fears, will vanish away, that day.
When we see the bright clouds, open to light, Jesus, the Way.
The stars will seem dim while we're kneeling by Him, Our precious Lord.
Our hearts will be kindled with great, great joy, not known to this world.

What will I do when I get to heaven?  I will reunite.
As I see old friends in the light with robes of purest white.
I will shout glory, from on high, where no more will ever die.
I will sing ever after where no more tears, I'll ever cry.

I stood upon the gap between this  life and eternity;
The sounds of instrumental peace-filled space with harmony.
What will I do, I asked myself, with all that I own, though it's small?
I have not loss, but greater wealth, because I gave my all.

I will rejoice evermore, Yes, we will  rejoice evermore,
In Jesus, our hope, our love, our God, salvation's door.
This world is just a vapor, a very small corner of time.

But heaven's glory, heaven's bright song, will ever chime.
