It Began On Christmas Day

It Began On Christmas Day

Song-   By: Susan Y Nikitenko
November 29th, 2011

Jesus Once A baby in a manger long ago;
Was sent to earth from heaven, For  God, He loved us so.
God gave us a Christmas Gift that lasts a whole life long;
For Jesus died for us, arose, and gave us a song.

Jesus was born,
Jesus grew,
Jesus died,
Arose anew.
Jesus lives;
And He forgives.
He made a way.
He made a way....
And It began....
On  Christmas day.

It was A Merry Christmas to the world on that day;
Jesus came to the world to wash our sins away.
Jesus once a baby rocked and loved in Mary's care;
Now is the Risen Savior that holds us very near.

Jesus was born,
Jesus grew,
Jesus died,
Arose anew.
Jesus lives
And He forgives.
He made a way.
He made a way....
for  me and you.

The promised gift of salvation was given in love;
The  sinless Lamb was provided by our God above.
Jesus grew, He suffered and understands our ev'ry need;
Jesus knows our grief, our pain our loss, and our plea.

It was A Merry Christmas to the world on that day;
Jesus came to the world to wash our sins away.
Jesus once a baby rocked and loved in Mary's care;
Now is the Risen Savior that holds us very near.

Jesus was born,
Jesus grew,
Jesus died,
Arose anew.
Jesus lives
And He forgives.
He made a way.
He made a way;
And It began....
On  Christmas day.

The fulfillment of God's promise began that day.

 Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah ~ A Christmas Song

Hallelujah, Hallelujah

Angels in the clouds on high;
Brighten up the night time sky.
Shepherds listening to them sing;
Telling of the newborn King.

The Shepherds fall to the ground;
Frightened by the sudden sounds.
Fear not, we come with tidings anew;
Christ was born for all including you.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Our Christ the King has come.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Gods one and only Son.

They find the new born baby;
Mary rocking him gently.
Joseph standing closely by;
While they heard a lullaby.

The cows are softly lowing;
The star above is glowing.
God's presence is all around;
Shepherds worship on the ground.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Our Christ the King has come.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Gods one and only Son.

As the night grows lighter;
And the baby lays asleep.
I almost hear  Mary sing;
Glory to the new born King.

Her heart is full of praising;
All those around her gazing.
Upon the holy child born;
Early that first Christmas morn.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Our Christ the King has come.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Gods one and only Son.

Kings have traveled oh so far;
Following a bright new star.
Baring gifts fit for a king;
Gifts of cost and love they bring.

A long road of suffering;
They long to see the new born King.
Wise men seeking something more;
They seek the promised Savior.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Our Christ the King has come.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Gods one and only Son.

He came for me and for you;
On that Christmas holy day.
A Gift from heavens thrown;
The greatest gift ever known.

Was sent from God on Christmas;
Emanuel God With us.
Our Savior, Our King, God's offering;
Let us worship, Let us sing.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Our Christ the King has come.
Hallelujah, Hallelujah;
Gods one and only Son.

The Heart Of Christmas

The Heart Of Christmas

When Christmas bells chime;
When Christmas lights shine;
We know that your birthday is near

When candles are glowing;
And outside it's snowing;
We know that Christmas time's here.

When children are singing;
And ornaments swinging;
We rejoice in your coming to earth.

When we hear the true story;
How  you came  from glory;
We celebrate your miracle birth.

More than a gift... from heaven;
More than a star aglow;
More than a little baby;
But a Savior we can know.

More than a story of old;
More precious than valuable gold;
More than a day called Christmas;
But riches in Jesus untold.

He was born to give His life away.
He was to die for us one day;
For through His blood our debt was paid.
This!  The heart of... Christmas day.

When Carols are sung;
And door wreaths are hung;
We know that it's time to prepare.

When grandma is cooking;
And little ones looking;
We know that it's that time of year.

When the Christmas tree shines;
And we gather to dine;
We  know your birthday is here.

More than a gift... from heaven;
More than a star aglow;
More than a little baby;
But a Savior we can know.

More than a story of old;
More precious than valuable gold;
More than a day called Christmas;
But riches in Jesus untold.

He was born to give His life away.
He was to die for us one day;
For through His blood our debt was paid.
This! the heart of Christmas day.

Keep On Singing And Praising

Keep On Singing And Praising

By: Susan Y Nikitenko
November 25th, 2011

True praise is the victory;
Praise will lead the way.
With faith as our protection;
God will bless our day.

Just keep praising and praising;
He is in control.
He's your heavenly Father;
He cares for your soul.

Keep on singing and praising;
Turn your hopes above.
Jesus knows our needy heart;
And looks down in love.

With thanksgiving in your heart;
Lift your voice and sing.
Keep your eyes upon Jesus;
Praise our holy King.

Don't let the devil trick you;
He seeks to destroy.
He wants to rob you dearly;
Of your life and your joy.

Keep on singing and praising;
Turn your hopes above.
Jesus knows our needy heart;
And looks down in love.

For Our God knows what is best;
Whether it seems dim.
We must learn to praise our God;
And fully trust Him.

Our world is broken in sin;
It makes our hearts sad.
But Jesus restores our joy;
When things seem so bad.

Just keep praising and praising;
He is in control.
He's your heavenly Father;
He cares for your soul.

Praise Your Name

Praise Your Name

By: Susan Y Nikitenko

 Praise Song

Praise your Name!
Praise your Holy name!
Through the storms,
Through the tears,
Through the years.

Praise you!
Your love will keep us.
Praise you!
Your strength will hold us.
Praise you!
Your truth will guide us;
along life's roads.

Praise your Name!
Praise your Holy name!
 Every day... along the way;
Thick or thin,
Again and again,
Praise your Name!
Praise your Holy name!

Praise ye Lord!
Praise ye Lord!
You are wonderful,
good and true.
Let our hearts grow joyful;
Praising your name;
For all the things ....
that you do.

Let our hearts,
begin anew....
Praising your name;
Because we love you.
 Teach our hearts to rejoice;
Making forgiveness a choice.
Praising your name;

There's so many reasons
To praise you Lord.....

For your great creation
And your Holy Word.
For your free salvation;
And our heart stirred.

Praise your Name!
Praise your Holy name!
Through the storms,
through the tears,
Through the years.

Praise you!
Your love will keep us.
Praise you!
Your strength will hold us.
Praise you!
Your truth will guide us;
along life's roads.

THANKSGIVING:

THANKSGIVING:

A day of thanks unto God for the great bounty of not just the harvest,
But for the bounty of love that God has allowed us to know and enjoy.
It has been set aside to honor Him, remember Him and praise Him.

A day of feasting and celebration of family and
to acknowledge Gods graciousness to us.

We as a nation have not deserved the great blessings
bestowed by God Almighty.  His great creation itself rejoices and shouts
of His goodness.  For this blessing alone we should be thankful.

His provision, for us as a nation, has been
astounding in comparison to other nations.  Let us return to Him and rejoice
with thanksgiving to our great God, who will never leave His child comfortless.

Let us be thankful for the provision of daily need whether
physical emotional or spiritual.  The provision of His grace that enables us
to continue on each day.

Have not the trees produced their crop and the fields their corn?
While others live in a barren waste and beg their bread?

 Still many dare to shake their fist at God while God
has been overly patient with this country.
Have not the spoiled of our country cried
the loudest in their complaints and bit the hands that fed them?

Let our thanksgiving be of a true heart,  Living a life that exemplifies
our gratefulness by our obedience to God.
A nation that forgets God and forsakes His commandments
will not go unpunished.

Lord help us to love you more and truly realize how good you are.
Help us to see how wonderfully blessed we are in this country.
Your blessings are numberless.

Let us fear what we allow to pass through our lips and
cause them to be filled with praise and thanksgiving.

Oh Lord I pray, that this country doesn't have to
suffer tremendous loss in order to see how good we really had it.
The old saying stands true,  You really don't know what you have
until it's gone.  Once it's gone we'll realize we should have been grateful.

Let us be grateful.
Let our hearts be filled with  true thankfulness.
Let us rejoice in God's  immeasurable blessings.
Gods provision and His grace upon  this beautiful country,
 America,  our home.

Thank You, God.
Thank You.

2 Corinthians  9:11
 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

Saved In a Snowstorm ~ Christmas Poem

Saved In a Snowstorm
( version 2)

Flurry, scurry, everywhere
the falling snow, does blow.
A flock of geese a swaying
fall to the earth below.

Doubting man, says to his wife
“Don’t ask me to believe.”
“Why would God, come down to us,
a sinful world receive?”

Hurting wife, she goes to church;
her heart down in despair.
Crying out to God above
“Show him, Lord, you care.”

Her husband hears a noise outside,
Honking geese trapped in the snow;
Cold, confused, alone,
While cold winds whip and blow.

Compassion speaking to his heart,
“Those wandering geese need saved.”
He bundled up to go outside.
He called to them and waved.

Blowing sharply, wintry winds;
He tried to call and guide.
They simply would not listen,
Though a door stood open wide.

Frustrated and greatly grieved,
He said, in words so dim,
“The only way to save the geese,
Is by becoming one of them.”

He fell upon his knees, that day,
In wintry blowing snow.
Cried out to God, “I understand”
Your love!, I see!, I know!”

God so gracious and so kind;
in compassion, heart felt love,
He came down, to dwell with man
And left His home above.

Taking on our human flesh;
He felt our human pain.
Died upon, a wooden cross;
For sinners, He was slain.

No greater love, there’s ever been;
Than that of this Great One.
In Human Flesh, Our loving God,
Sent us His only Son.

John 1:14 (Whole Chapter)
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Play Ideas:

Children dress up like geese
Instead of angels;  A Geese Choir

Still have a few angels for the manger scene;

Snow cutouts hanging from ceiling;

Blizzard Sound Effects

Snowy background.

Have your normal manger scene presentation after the slow reading
of Saved in a Snowstorm.

Silent acting  or repeat dialog along with reading;  along with reading.  The children can honk, The man can pray.

7 Facts and 7 Lessons Learned From Geese

Fact 1:
As each goose flaps its wings it creates an “uplift” for the birds that follow. By flying in “V” formation, the whole flock adds 71 percent greater flying range than if each bird flew alone.

Lesson:
People who share a common direction and a sense of community can get where they are going quicker and easier because they are traveling on the thrust of one another.

Fact 2:
When a goose falls out of formation, it suddenly feels the drag and resistance of flying alone. It quickly moves back up into formation to take advantage of the lifting power of the bird immediately ahead of it.

Lesson:
If we have as much sense as a goose, we will stay in formation with those headed where we want to go. We are willing to accept their help and give our help to others.

Fact 3:
When the lead goose tires, it rotates back into formation and another goose flies to the point position.

Lesson:
It pays to take turns doing the hard tasks and sharing leadership. As with geese, people are interdependent on each other’s skills, capabilities and unique arrangements of gifts, talents, or resources.

Fact 4:
The geese flying in formation honk to encourage each of those up front to keep up their speed.

Lesson:
We need to make sure our honking is encouraging. In groups where there is encouragement, the production is much greater. The power of encouragement (to stand by one’s heart or core values and encourage the heat and core of others) is the quality of honking we seek.

Fact 5:
When a goose gets sick, wounded or shot down, two geese drop out of formation and follow it down to help and protect it. They stay with it until it dies or is able to fly again. Then, they launch out with another formation, or catch up with the flock.

Lesson:
If we have as much sense as geese, we will stand by each other in difficult times as well as when we are strong.

Fact 6:
Geese fly South for the winter in the Northern Hemisphere.

Lesson:
It is a reminder to take a break from the cold of winter and take a vacation to some place warm & sunny to rejuvenate ourselves.

Fact 7:
The larger flocks of geese usually inhabit areas where geese eating for humans is more popular or in demand, and where there are smaller flocks of geese flying, there is usually smaller demand for geese, to be used for human food. * This fact according to the Oklahoma State University Board of Regents study on geese.

Lesson:
Larger flocks of humans together may not always be as effective as smaller flocks who are able to maneuver much more quickly in life and business without being eaten up by the competition…so to speak. (yes, this was a stretch, but relevant, no?)
