Worthy Of Celebration

Worthy Of  Celebration

I was asking myself this question today.  Why is the celebrating of Jesus being born biblical?

Christmas is one of the greatest spiritual events that has ever taken place in history.  God himself opened the heavens and sent  a celebrating band of angels.  These angels  I'm sure sang though the bible does not say so.

One of the reasons I believe they sang is that some angels have musical instrument in their bodies.   The bible says that they rejoiced and many times we too will gather to rejoice together on joyous occasions.  Most the time rejoicing includes music and singing.
Heaven is full of music, singing and praising, so even if they did not sing.  To think they may have  would not be unreasonable, knowing that God himself put musical instruments in some angles bodies.  They were living instruments of music.

God chose to have a great event to announce the Christ Child being born.  He did not have to open the skies of heavens glories to reveal something wonderful to lowly shepherds.  He did not have to let them witness the rejoicing of heavenly angels.  He could have chose some other way, but it was a celebration.

He chose to tell us of the celebration in His Word.  God made sure that Christ's birthday was recognized as a great day, and what a great day it still is.  God chose to make it part of His holy Word.   The historical occurrence has lead many people in the dark spiritually to the light of the world, (Jesus our Savoiur.)

Just as the shepherds watched their sheep in a dark night,
God's heavenly angels filled the dark skies with light.
God then opened their eyes to fully understand.
That God, that night had provided himself a lamb.

The occasion called for something special from heaven's bright land.  A celebration of God's promise of a Saviour fulfilled.
Jesus'  birth is totally worthy of celebration.  With rejoicing, singing and praising God.

 Genesis 22:8 And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb

(This is old testament prophecy of God providing the lamb of God, His Son,
as the sacrifice for our sin.)

Christmas Happens

Christmas Happens

It may be hard for us to comprehend, but we can't earn our way to heaven by how good we are.  Salvation cannot be earned but rather is a gift given to us.  We do not deserve salvation, nor can we find it on our own.  God saves us because He wants to, because He loves people and because it brings glory to His name.

He has offered a gift.  This gift was delivered through our Saviour...who was born on Christmas day.  Then when He grew He died on a cruel cross.  He took our sins upon himself and became sin for us.  Emmanuel died for us.

Christmas Is - Christ born giving hope to a hopeless world. The peace of God born in the heart of every believer.  Believe upon he Lord Jesus Christ and salvation will be born in you.  This is the gift of Christmas.

Jesus is the light of the world and the light in our hearts when we trust him and accept the gift He offers to all that will receive.

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord, believing, will receive the gift of salvation that comes through Christ alone.

Christmas happened when Jesus was born and Christmas happens when Jesus is born in your heart.
Christmas happens because He lives evermore.

"I AM" Here

"I AM"  Here

She sat by her window one early morn;
She had lived in the silence too long.
Heartbroken, alone and on her own;
It just seemed everything had gone wrong.

But in the frost of the window appeared;
It seemed like a dream , but oh so true.
Like God himself had written with love;
The words "I AM"  in the drips of the dew.

Could it be He was  saying some wonderful thing?
Like,  "I Am"  your God and I'm here for you."
"Never alone, never alone , dear one;
I gave a reminder, here in the dew.'

"I Am" your God, "I Am' your best  friend;"
"I  Am" your heavenly Father  above."
"I  Am "  always here and hear your prayers;"
"I  AM" faithful, "I Am"  just,  "I Am" love."
-------------

Could it be in times of grief and sorrow;
God would comfort while we are comfortless?
When no human words or act could console;
The great "I Am" can speak great things to us.

Could it be, when it seems we've been forsaken;
That God himself would send a special hug:
Upon a frozen window dripping dew?
Just to say," I AM"  here and I love you?"

Hebrews 13:5b
I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The  words "I Am" on the window story --- is the true life testimony of a lady from our church.

God Came Down To Us - Acronym

God Came Down To Us

Jesus, the Son of God was born;
The Great I Am Came From Heaven.
New to a world that needed Him;
Born so we could be forgiven.

King of kings, born an infant boy;
Came upon a star filled night.
 From heavens throne, to a manger;
Heaven brought forth both Truth and light.

Upon that blest Christmas dawning;
That most precious moment, NOEL.
Holy child, God's  gift to the world;
Night, turned to day, Emanuel.

Chorus:
God Came Down To Us, No-o-el;
Night, turned to day, Emanuel.
Upon that blest Christmas dawning;
God Came Down To Us, No-o-el.
