A Big Month

A Big Month

 This past month has been a big month for our family.  Our youngest daughter graduated, successfully, from Heartland Baptist Bible College with a 3.9.  My daughter was married  May 22nd, to a man she has been courting for around 6 years.   I watched my daughter drive away in my car, which we have given them, for one dollar.  She has never driven anywhere except here close to home, but off they went on their honeymoon, to another state.  I prayed for their safety and was thrilled to see them make it home with no harm. Praise God.  Both of my kids live near me at this time and I consider that a blessing.

I considered ourselves empty nesters while my daughter was at college but the finality of the marriage vows, hit me.  I had to let go and just trust God.

My husband and I went out and bought a table that would fit seven people.  We had a table for years that belonged to His mother.  It  was autographed, with crayons, by my husband when he was a little boy.  After many years the table squeaks and moves back and forth. My daughters and I have used the table for sewing and crafting purposes.  Since we've lived here, around 7 years, we've been using a small round drop-leaf table  and folding chairs.  I look forward to our eating at our new table with our growing family.

God Is Your Forever Best Friend

God is Your Forever Best Friend

Are you weary in well doing?
Half hearted in your care?
Don't you want to be a blessing -
To people everywhere?

When none seem to appreciate;
The time you've put in.
The sacrifices you have made;
Are all judged once again.

Are you feeling kind of empty?
Feel wounded by a friend?
Are you finding it's very hard:
To ever trust again?

God is your forever, best friend;
Be persistent and pray.
He is there for you , He loves you.
You will see fruit one day.

When discouragement has spoken;
In both actions and words.
God's testing our faithfulness;
When life has thrown it's curves.

Our tears are counted in heaven;
Our prayers attended to.
Our grief never goes unnoticed;
He's attentive to you.

God is your forever, best friend;
His love will never end.
Praise Him, love Him, With  your full heart.
You will find joy in Him.

God is your forever, best friend;

Proverbs 18:24

 A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

 Galatians 6:9

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Forward Into Victory - Changes

Forward Into Victory

Courage moves us forward into victory;
Even through life's toughest times.
Sometimes when tempted to despair, in our cares;
To God's  blessings, we are blind.

Sometimes we feel we've been defeated;
Seems like the devil has won.
I've learned the only thing that seems to help me through.
Is giving praise to God's Son.

Take time to thank Him in the battles of faith;
In any hardship life brings.
Life if more bearable, in Jesus our Lord.
When we trust him in all things.

Giving God the highest place in our hearts;
Each day, in the way, of truth.
Knowing when He died, He died for you and me;
In Him we can live brand new.

Just as He arose, like morning sunshine.
The Day Star was born in us.
He has given us power to overcome;
When by faith we learned to trust.

When things come to ashes , and things come to dust;
I pray His presence will show.
Enduring by His grace, each thing that we face;
That God's love, others may know.

Yes, we can do all things, we can endure all things;
Believeth all things in him.
We can hope all things, beareth all things, on eagle wings.
"Til  Jesus comes back again.

Optional Chorus
'Cause,  Hope Keeps Us Going;
'Cause, Faith Keeps Us Praising;
Courage Says "I Can":
I Can Do All Things -
Through Christ Our Lord.

I Can Do All Things Through Him.
 Cause,  Love Keeps Us Faithful;
'Cause Truth Keeps Us Knowing;
Courage Says" "Stand Tall."
I Can Do All Things -I Can Do All Things -I Can Do All Things -
Through Christ Our  Lord.

1 Corinthians 13:7
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
 2 Peter 1:19
We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
 Isaiah 40:31
 But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Make Your Busy Worth It!

Make Your Busy Worth It!

The worth it kind of busy;
Is Jesus, others and you.
The worth it kind of busy;
Last's throughout eternity.

Like holding your children close;
Teaching them love and truth.
How to treat others with a -
Thank-you and how do you do.

Teaching them to love Jesus:
Teaching them do what's right.
Reading the Bible stories;
Then tuckin' them in at night.

Cause if your selfish and mean;
What kind of world would it be.
A world without compassion;
Without warmth or charity.

The worth it kind of busy;
Is making your love shine on.
In the hearts of those you love;
Making it go on and on.

Cause God's love last's forever;
He shine's on and on through you.
When you give your heart to Him.
He shines on in what you do.

The worth it kind of busy;
Is the difference you make.
If you love the Lord your God;
He will work through your mistakes.

The worth it kind of busy;
Is Jesus, others and you.
The worth it kind of busy;
Last's throughout eternity.

Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these

Mothers

Mothers

Mothers show love in the many thing they do along life's way.
They bless our day, both bright or grey, and wipe each tear away.
Wiping the nose, cleaning the clothes, singing a little song.
Giving a hug, all nice and snug, consoling when things go wrong.
Mother's  know best, when life's a test, she always shows her care.
When grumpy or sad, feel sick or mad, Mom is always there.
She looks in your eyes, she's a surprise, she brings life a smile.
When she is asked, She does well each task, she goes the extra mile.
She gives her best, she'd do no less, even when she's ill.
She give's what she can, sticks to the plan, if she can she will.
Mother's a friend, we can depend, her love goes on and on.
Her influence, makes a difference even when she is gone.

Thank-You Mom

Restore My Soul

Restore My Soul

Restore my soul, restore My soul;
Oh, Bless me now my Savoir.
Please heal my broken spirit Lord;
Let my heart no longer waver.

When  my feelings rage inside me;
Through any troubles or tears.
You still put a song in my heart;
Even after all these years.

Restore my soul, restore my soul;
Restore my soul, restore my soul.
Gentle Shepherd, hold me near.

Restore my soul, Restore my soul;
Don't let this heart grow weary.
Let your ways, always fill my thoughts;
Help me see the  way clearly.

Gentle Shepherd, still the waters.
Peaceful waters quench my thirst.
Lead me into your hope, your joy.
Help me always put you first.

Restore my soul, restore my soul;
Restore my soul, restore my soul.
Gentle Shepherd, hold me near.

Restore my soul, restore my soul;
Restore my soul, restore my soul.
Gentle Shepherd, hold me near.

Psalms 23:2-3
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.   He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

Millie

Millie

This week I was thinking about one of the last things I had written called "Pointing Fingers".

I remembered something that happened a few months ago.  I went to take a walk at the park and right away I noticed a man wearing what seemed to be a vest a city worker would be wearing.  The vest was both the neon yellow and orange.  I thought to myself maybe He's the dog catcher.

I was paying attention as I was walking towards him.  I noticed a huge white dog loose and confronting another dog who was on the leash of another walker.  I could hear the reaction of one of the dogs growling.  I noticed the apparent, city worker ,walking a smaller black and white dog and was trying to put the big dog on a leash, but the big dog came prancing quickly towards me.

The man said nothing as the dog ran towards me.  The white dog was a very tall dog, with long legs and had a huge tongue flapping around as it was quickly getting closer to me.  I wasn't sure what to expect, a dog wanting to play and lick my face  or a dog ready to tear my arm off.   Which ever,  I knew not to run because dogs like to run down their prey.  I was calm and I didn't react. I knew if the dog went to bite, not to pull away, knowing that dogs will bite and pull harder at resistance.

 I raised my finger like a mother does when she tells her older child," no" firmly.  I told the dog "No" "Stay" Nooo",  with firmness and I shook my finger at her.  She did not listen.   I stood very still as the dog grabbed me by my right hand and clamped down just hard enough to cause a slight discomfort. I talked to the dog gently and said,  "Oh, you just want to play."   "That's too rough, let go, let go."   She finally listened and calmed down. All the while the apparent city worker said nothing.

Almost as if  nothing had happened, I asked the man if He worked for the city?  He was about ten years or more older than I am.  He said, "Yes, I do on occasion."   After questioning him, I learned the dog was his and her name was Millie.  I noticed that Millie was wet from jumping into the creek and I told the man, "It looks like you're going to need to take Millie home and give her a bath."    He bent way down to pet his smaller dog and said  "this is the baby".  Then the man stood up, firmly looked at me while putting a leash on Millie. Then He started walking towards his vehicle.

I can't really say I was being threatened, but I felt threatened.  I was hoping it wasn't some kind of game to get me to react.  I couldn't understand why he did not tell his dog to stop.  In any case I did not have any visible reaction.  This was one of several episodes, I have felt threatened by somebody's dog.  Now I'm gun shy around dogs all together, though I do not hate them.
