If Our Hearts Were A Garden

If Our Hearts Were A Garden

If our hearts were a garden;
For everyone to see.
There is nothing more beautiful;
Than a garden of peace.

Not a garden of hatefulness;
Not a garden of strife.
Not a garden of jealousy;
But a prayerful life.

If our hearts were  a garden;
Would they see Jesus there.
As they walked amongst the harvest;
Would they see the Lord's care.

Bless-ed are the peacemakers;
Who seek to please the Lord.
Who's garden has blessed many;
In this God forsaken world.

 If our hearts were a garden;
For everyone to see.
I would pray they'd see Jesus;
Alive in you and in me.

What A Beautiful Musical Fall - Poem

What A Beautiful Musical Fall

The Autumn months bring pleasure and smiles;
As we remember, how God has blessed.
Both now and throughout our years gone by;
The wonderful things that we love best.

Baskets of apples, of wheat and the crops;
The apple cider that warms our chills.
All of the squirrels collecting for winter;
And the hayride through the pumpkin field .

With colorful leaves in colorful trees;
We thank-God, Give thanks for it all;
For the harvest, for the blessings so loved;
What a beautiful, musical fall.

Then coming down, like an orchestra sound;
The wind and the leaves dance together.
And the smell of baked bread catches our nose;
The fall has such comforting weather.

The pleasantry's of Autumn seem endless;
The corn stalks standing tall in a row.
All the different pumpkins and  gourds;
And the bright mums the harvesters grow.

Then comes a crisp day in the Autumn months
We gather together as night falls.
And sing songs around the bonfire;
What a beautiful, musical fall.

With family and friends who love and bless;
With laughter and life's sweet enjoyment,
Just to be around them brings our lives joy;
Feelings, better than any present.

We will enter His gates with thanksgiving praise;
We will sing of His glory and  his grace.
We will remember the goodness of God;
And rejoice in His glorious ways.

A friend plays his guitar and says "sing along";
We sing along while the crickets call;
With the many sounds of Autumn's night;
What a beautiful, musical fall.

Psalms 100:4
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise: be
thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Returning To Our First Love - Jude 1:21, Thessalonians 3:3

Returning To Our First Love

I was walking in the park and I was thinking about my heart garden.  This past  year I've had to struggle with a decision that I made last year.  I planted some double purple  bell flowers in my garden knowing very well that they tend to take over.  They are very beautiful and go so well with my firework primrose.
They are just such trouble makers though, I've had to work continuously trying to keep them under control.  They just keep coming back no matter how hard I work.  I still love them, I just don't want them getting into everything.   They tend to kill the other plants around them because their roots take over.
I had to partially dig up my garden and plant new seed.  My garden started blooming with tall orange Cosmos flowers.  They look very nice especially because they are still blooming and they go well with the pumpkins and mums set out for the fall season.

Sometimes in life we allow things into our hearts that we shouldn't let in.  Bitterness, discontentment, or perhaps loving something more than we love God.  The longer we leave it there, the more the roots take over.  This is why we need to keep ourselves aware of what is growing in our hearts, or life or family, or government, because all these areas of life can be overtaken by a silent enemy and the enemy can seem very harmless and beautiful.  If left alone to grow it will restrict any other growth.  Just as I had to start again in the part of my heart garden that was taken over.  Sometimes we have to start digging up the problem, in order to replant in the damaged areas.  This takes putting God first again, returning to our first love.  Some things died in my heart garden, but with love and care my heart garden is blooming again.

My heart garden is going to need regular maintenance because the struggle will always be there.  There will always be something trying to take over.  Our lives and hearts need the same care and God gives us the instructions for all our maintenance needs in The Word Of God.

Jude 1:21
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

My Precious Friend

My Precious Friend

Praise You Lord;
For all your love.
All of You;
Oh Holy Dove.

Praise You Lord;
Forever more.
All my heart;
To you I pour.

Praise Your name;
Risen One.
Our loving Lord;
Perfect Son.

With my tears;
Upon your feet.
Thoughts of you;
Are only sweet.

Praise again;
And then again;
To You Lord;
My precious Friend.
Praise Song:

It's Time To Count!

It's Time To Count!

Our Many Blessings

Verse 1
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.
One and two, three and four;
God has blessed us that's for sure.
With country free and family;
Our  God, who loves you and me.
All the flowers seas and trees;
Raindrops, starlight, colored leaves.
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.

Verse 2
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.
Five and six, seven, eight;
Giving thanks, appreciate.
All the apples grapes and pears;
Our eyes, our nose and our ears.
All the creatures great and small;
And the mountains all so tall.
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.

Verse 3
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.
Nine and ten, eleven, twelve.
With great thanks let's give a yell;
For our  feet,  our  heart, our hands;
Sisters. brothers, other lands.
For sunlight, the  moon at night;
And the wind to fly my kite.
It's time to count ( count!)
Our many blessings.

Summer Soon Ends

Summer Soon Ends

By Susan Y Nikitenko
September 2009

Summer is beautiful, arrayed with the Black Eyed Susan,
shimmering, with seas of daisy fields.
It swarms with bees, bugs and butterflies that dance, swirl and spin;
And the cherry trees bring forth their yield.

The delicious smells of picnic cookouts fill the noon day;
Family’s reunions meet in the park.
Wonderful sounds of laughter can be heard from all around;
And the chime of horseshoes until dark.

Playfully children catch the evening hour fireflies;
The crickets cry out with songs of cheer.
One can hear a guitar playing on a neighbor’s front porch;
And the frogs deep croaking by the pier.

Summer soon comes to an end and life starts to fade away ;
The seasons come and the seasons go.
We have health and vitality for only a season;
To work the plow, to water, to grow.

For the season will soon end, health will soon fall away;
Like the colorful leaves in the fall.
So work the ground, be busy planting seed while there is time.
And extend your hand with truth to all.

Live summer, giving your youth to the cause of Christ our King
Your best years spent, your best years given,
In serving , in loving, in worshiping, in honoring;
Because by grace you are forgiven.

The Fair

The Fair

a little humor

Gourds and pumpkins, apples too;
A fall  festivity.
Corn and stalks, hay bale blocks;
Displays of artistry.
All around are fairground sounds;
And everywhere you go.
There are people wandering;
Enjoying rides and shows.
Venders treats and meats galore;
 They're smells are in the air.
Not to mention cows and sheep;
You'll find the barnyard there.
Aunt Betty's blue ribbon pie;
It won again this year.
Children from the 4H group;
Are running here and there.
Pens and pencils, paper pads;
mints and fingernail files.
Commercial  booths,  handouts;
It seems they go for miles.
Gifts and gadgets are for sale;
But some things are for free.
Just  like the spinal screening;
That was offered to me.
Politicians shake your hand;
And give a pleasant grin.
Then you get a plastic bag;
To put your free stuff in.
High above the ground you see;
The giant ferris wheel .
And hear screaming from  the rides;
That give your heart a thrill.
Cotton candy is the best;
But I've had to say no.
Though I really love it;
I just don't need to grow.
When I was a little girl;
Around seven or so.
I was given a small book;
A yellow smile aglow.
Though it was a little thing;
A seed was planted here.
I remember to this day;
That someone really cared.
You get tired at the fair;
Exhausted from the fun.
But you have fond memories;
When all is said and done.

(Song)

It's been a while since I've ridden any rides at the fair.  The majority of my time is giving out the gospel message along with my family. But one of these days I'll go just for the rides and the
car derby.

There is so much I could say about the fair.  I can say, the most exciting thing about the fair is when I get to witness to others about Jesus.  When you see the light come on in their eyes.  When they understand for the first time how much Jesus really does love them.  That's the best time ever.  Because our hearts rejoice.
Question:

Someone told me the smile book  has been around for fifty years or so.  I just assumed they were right.  I know the smile was there when I was little.

Does anyone know for sure how long Amazing Grace Missions has been giving out those little books?
