Returning To Our First Love - Jude 1:21, Thessalonians 3:3

Returning To Our First Love

I was walking in the park and I was thinking about my heart garden.  This past  year I've had to struggle with a decision that I made last year.  I planted some double purple  bell flowers in my garden knowing very well that they tend to take over.  They are very beautiful and go so well with my firework primrose.
They are just such trouble makers though, I've had to work continuously trying to keep them under control.  They just keep coming back no matter how hard I work.  I still love them, I just don't want them getting into everything.   They tend to kill the other plants around them because their roots take over.
I had to partially dig up my garden and plant new seed.  My garden started blooming with tall orange Cosmos flowers.  They look very nice especially because they are still blooming and they go well with the pumpkins and mums set out for the fall season.

Sometimes in life we allow things into our hearts that we shouldn't let in.  Bitterness, discontentment, or perhaps loving something more than we love God.  The longer we leave it there, the more the roots take over.  This is why we need to keep ourselves aware of what is growing in our hearts, or life or family, or government, because all these areas of life can be overtaken by a silent enemy and the enemy can seem very harmless and beautiful.  If left alone to grow it will restrict any other growth.  Just as I had to start again in the part of my heart garden that was taken over.  Sometimes we have to start digging up the problem, in order to replant in the damaged areas.  This takes putting God first again, returning to our first love.  Some things died in my heart garden, but with love and care my heart garden is blooming again.

My heart garden is going to need regular maintenance because the struggle will always be there.  There will always be something trying to take over.  Our lives and hearts need the same care and God gives us the instructions for all our maintenance needs in The Word Of God.

Jude 1:21
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

 Philippians 4:7
And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Thessalonians 3:3
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.

I Planted A Seed Today

I Planted A Seed Today

I planted a seed today,  today;
I pray that  it will grow.
Within the heart of the one who wants;
To really, really know.

Jesus loves us more than anything;
Oh how He loves us so.
He laid down His life for us to live:
And from the grave He rose.

Just as the seed lay dead in the ground;
And springs to life one day.
So is a lost sinner, sad and alone:
But then He finds the Way.

I planted a seed today,  today;
I pray that  it will grow.
Within the heart of the one who wants;
To really, really know.

Just A Little Note About My Life

Just A Little Note About My Life

I have become very busy lately and if anyone in the whole wide world really wants to know why I haven't been posting, it's because I have been helping with a moving sale. My neighbors just a couple houses up are moving and we are helping her clean, lift and price. Well, somehow I hurt my back and I've been having back spasms going on my third day. I wasn't able to do my scheduled volunteer work at the hospital, not only did I forget all about working on every forth Tuesday of the month, I didn't find a replacement to fill my spot. I was very disappointed in myself. I strive to be a dependable person. When I'm not used to my schedule I sometimes forget things.

My daughters and I are also helping close family friends with a wedding happening in August. So we have been busy with centerpiece flower arrangements, flower bouquets, decorating the arch and planning the reception hall and making decorations.

I still haven't finished putting mulch on the side of my home. So it is still sitting in my driveway waiting for my back to get better. I enjoy taking care of my flower gardens even if I do a little at a time.  Everything looks very beautiful this time of year.

Then just the everyday tasks of the home and cooking for my family.

I wrote all of this just to let you all  know-  I haven't forgotten you and I'm not quitting. You are in my prayers always.

We found a very old copy of Robert Louis Stevenson book for children called, Childs Book Of Verse - The first addition. It's illustrated. The book is sold online for $180.00. We are selling it for 100.00. The moving sale begins this week. Pray that it goes well.
