ðŸŒŋ Matthew Henry on the Bride of Christ

(with brief allowable quotations)

1. “Christ is the Bridegroom of His church.”

Henry repeatedly emphasized that Jesus relates to His people with the tenderness, devotion, and covenant love of a bridegroom.

He taught that Christ:

  • chose His Bride

  • loves His Bride

  • purifies His Bride

  • will come again to receive His Bride

2. The Bride must be ready, adorned, and watching.

Henry wrote that the church must prepare herself with holiness, obedience, and love — just as a bride prepares for her wedding day.

He said believers should be:

  • “adorned with the graces of the Spirit”

  • “waiting for the Bridegroom’s coming”

3. Christ’s return is the Bridegroom coming for His beloved.

Henry saw the Second Coming as a joyful wedding moment — not a fearful one for the believer.

Henry taught that Revelation 19 shows the church entering her eternal joy.

Henry emphasized that the Bride rests not in her own worthiness, but in Christ’s love and righteousness.

He said the church is:

Heavenly Father, We thank Thee for the blessed promise of Thy Son’s return. Help us to live each day with watchful hearts, as though this very moment might be the moment we behold His glorious appearing.

Let our steps be steady, our thoughts pure, our words seasoned with grace, and our lamps burning bright in readiness.

When the world grows dim and shadows lengthen, remind us that the dawn of His coming draws near. Teach us to walk in holiness, to love as Christ loved, and to serve with joy until He calls us home.

Lord Jesus, Keep our eyes fixed upon Thee. Let every sunrise whisper, “Perhaps today,” and every sunset echo, “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”

Lord, go before Your people. Prepare the atmosphere with peace. Fill the sanctuary with Your presence. Let Your Spirit rest on the musicians, the teachers, the pastor, the children, the volunteers, and every person who walks through the doors.

Bless the worship — let it be sincere, joyful, and Spirit‑led. Bless the teaching — let it be clear, powerful, and full of truth. Bless the fellowship — let it be warm, encouraging, and unifying. Bless the children’s classes — let little hearts feel loved, safe, and eager to learn about Jesus.

Lord, protect the church grounds, the building, the people, and the leadership. Let no distraction, no confusion, no heaviness, and no discouragement enter. Let Your peace reign from the first moment to the last.

May tomorrow be a day of:

  • renewed faith,

ðŸ•Ŋ️ The Real Story Behind the Lantern Light

Farmer Finn wasn’t just counting blessings because it was sweet —
he was counting blessings because he had been asking God for help all week long.

Simple prayers.
Honest prayers.
Lantern‑light prayers.

“Lord, I don’t know how these bills will get paid.”
“Lord, please help me.”
“Lord, I need You to make a way.”

And God heard every whisper.

But the answer didn’t come in the way Finn imagined.
It didn’t come in the mail.
It didn’t come through a neighbor.
It didn’t come through a sale.

It came…
through the Windows of Heaven.




ðŸĨš The Egg‑splosion Nobody Expected

Gutsy Goose and Glossy Goose were laying eggs like they had taken on a full‑time factory job.

Eggs in the hay.
Eggs in the buckets.
Eggs under the wagon.
Eggs behind the pitchfork.
Eggs in places eggs should never be.

The geese nearly lost their minds.
The chickens refused to claim them.
The ducks waddled away shaking their heads.
The cat stared down from the rafters like,
“This is above my pay grade.”

And nobody — nobody — wanted scrambled eggs.

But heaven had opened a window.


ðŸŠķ A Blessing Too Big to Receive

One morning, Farmer Finn stepped into the barn and froze.

Eggs.
Everywhere.
A blessing so big the barn couldn’t hold it.

And suddenly, Malachi 3:10 came alive right in front of him:

There wasn’t room enough to receive it —
not in the nests,
not in the barn,
not in the buckets,
not even in the farmer’s imagination.

Finn gathered the eggs.
He boxed the eggs.
He sold the eggs.
He delivered the eggs.
He donated some, too — because blessings overflow.

And by the end of the week…

Every bill was paid.
Every need was met.
Every prayer was answered.

Farmer Finn sat on his hay bale that night, lantern glowing beside him, notebook open on his knee. Gutsy and Glossy were finally calm, snuggled into their nest like two exhausted feathered heroes.

He wrote:

“Lord… You opened the windows of heaven.”
“The eggs paid the bills.”
“Thank You for knowing what I need before I do.”

He circled it twice.

 And Such Were Some Of You

Have you ever heard the bible story about Saul in the new testament?  Saul believed himself to be righteous in living for God as he went about persecuting and killing Christians.  He was a religious man, a Pharisee who had the authority of the Sanhedrin to persecute anyone who  did not uphold their beliefs.  The Christians feared  him and fled at his appearing , but something happened one day that changed  Saul's whole life.  
There was  great persecution against the Christians.  In fear they  scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.  Saul went house to house threatening to kill Christians and persecuting families throwing them into prison.  This was very soon after the stoning of Steven who was stoned to death,  but prayed for those stoning him.   
Christians must have been praying for their deliverance and help from God because God himself confronted Saul on the road to Damascus.  It was the day that Saul's life was changed forever.  Saul believed He was serving God, but instead He was working against God.  Saul was deceived into a wrong religion.  He needed to know Jesus.  Saul was blinded to truth already and  God also blinded him physically  on the road to Damascus.  We are all blinded to truth until God opens our eyes.  Many people believe they serve God and know God but, they are not alive to God. They are still dead in their trespasses and sins.   See Saul (Paul)  thought  He was doing the work of the Lord, but instead He was serving Satan in the name of God.  God was merciful to his children and also to Saul.  
God spoke directly to Saul and asked him why He was persecuting Him.   

Acts  9:4   And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

 He needed to understand that He was wrong and hurting Christ by hurting his people.  Saul was blinded and needed to be lead by the hand.  
Saul believed God and prayed. Then God sent Him Ananias, who was a Man of God.   Ananias called Saul brother, which means He became part of the family of God.  Saul's eyes were opened spiritually to God for the very first time.  He was still blinded physically but his eyes were spiritually opened to the truth of Christ.  Ananias was there to pray over Saul , to restore his site and that Saul would be filled with the Holy Ghost.  Saul became a preacher of God that day.
Saul had problems at first being accepted by Christians because they feared him.  He was known for persecuting Christians.  Many people are known for something before they become faithful to Christ but, because of God's great  forgiveness we are given a new start .  Saul was accepted and forgiven  and was received into the family of Christ.  He became a great hero of the faith that we read about in the scriptures.  God has changed the life of many who once were fooled by false religions or ideas that kept them blind to God and his love.  
We are all guilty of sin and if we remain without Christ, we will be held accountable for our sins.  The payment for sin is death, meaning an eternal death, an eternity in hell.  God does not want that for anyone.  He desires that all people be saved.  
We become righteous in God's sight when we accept Christ.  See true belief will give birth to good works and a desire to please God with our lives.  
In the following verses I especially want you to take notice of verse 11 where it says, " And such were some of you".   

1Corinthians 6:9-11
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God?  Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.  And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Saul was a violent man who had killed Christians
The Christians didn't believe Saul was saved  and they had to be persuaded to accept him into the family of God.  They had to forgive someone who hurt their families and friends.  They prayed and made a decision to forgive.  They did forgive him and He became a great leader of righteousness.

Are you someone who thinks God wouldn't forgive someone like you, someone who wants to know if your trusting in the right things, believing the right things?  Maybe this is your wakeup call.  Saul had a wakeup call and He believed and became a great man of God.  He was given a new name.  Paul, the Apostle of Christ.

Are you someone who has not continued in the faith of Christ, someone who has wandered away from right living.  You're a believer, but you've messed up.  If you were truly his child, He will not leave you alone, He will not let you live at peace with your sin, He will chasten you until you are sorrowful over what sin does.  He chastens those he loves.  He spanks us so to speak, only sometimes worse than that.  It all depends on what it takes to get you home.  It may be a gentle reminder or a near death, a wake up call.  See if you were once his child you are always his child.  He will never leave us nor forsake us. We are sealed until the day of redemption, Once you are born into the family of God, you don't get aborted, The only thing that blots you out of the book of life.  Is the rejection of Christ, because it's what Christ did that saved us and it's what he did for us that keeps us saved.

Sorrowing



Sorrowing

Tears fall like rain, because you have gone;
Away in the arms of angels, to heaven on high.
We  know that your pain is no longer;
But it's still so hard, just to say goodbye.

We  hope that you are comforted;
In the arms of Jesus, Our Saviour and friend.
We  know that in His presence is peace;
No sorrow, nor pain, nor death ever again.

Our hearts are stricken, our sorrow is deep;
We will miss you. We will never forget you.
Your life  will be a stamp upon our thoughts.
A memory cherished and everyday new.

Where Joy Overflows

So Many Shadows Of Heaven

So many shadows of heaven;
Are everywhere to be found.
From orange red skies to butterflies;
From roses to forest stream sounds.

The powers of space and beyond;
The lights of the stars shining down.
The sun twinkling through the trees;
The spring flowers dancing around.

The rocks and riches of mountains;
The minerals of precious stones;
And beautiful flowing fountains.
Were created from heavens throne.

So many shadows of heaven;
Are created to bring Him praise.
The greatness of our God above;
Oh, how excellent, all His ways

The snowflakes and all their designs;
The fall leaves in colors displayed.
The spring bringing life once again;
The summers grand finally played.

So many shadows of heaven;
From wonder to wonders each day.
Like family and friendship too;
And God's Word leading us the way.

So many shadows of heaven;
Reminders of what's yet to be.
For those who trust in Christ alone;
The wonders of e-tern-it-y.

The Kind Of Love That Will Never End

When thorns tore through his sweaty brow;
When with faces, they jeered with hateful growls.
Beating Him beyond recognition;
Submitting to God, He was being our friend.

He was willing to pay the price;
It was love, true love, there was no other way.
No greater love, no greater friend;
The kind of love, that will never end.

 When the first nail was pounded down,
When the first drop of blood fell to the ground;
When His hands stretched from end to end;
When He was dying  there for our sin.

He was willing to pay the price;
It was love, true love, when he gave his life.
No greater love, no greater friend;
The kind of love, that will never end.

When the spear was thrust into His side;
When the Son of God began to die.
He lifted himself upon wounded hands;
Father forgive them was His cry.

He was willing to pay the price;
It was love, true love, love more than kind.
No greater love, no greater friend;
The kind of love, from God's Valentine.

Jesus Was Born On Christmas Day


Children's Poem

Jesus was born on Christmas day;
He would grow up;
To die and wash our sins away.

Jesus was born on Christmas day;
The guiding light;
He's the Truth, the Life, the Way.

Jesus was born on Christmas day:
Hope of heaven;
He would provide the only way.

Jesus was born on Christmas day;
The living Word;
Mary gently kissed, gently swayed.

Jesus was born on Christmas day;
Wonderful day:
He was our God upon the hay.
