Being Consistent

Being Consistent

I have two daughters, they are six years apart.  When my daughters were babies I used to lay on the floor by their crib in the darkened room.  I would sing to them softly hymns about Jesus.  When they would drift off to sleep I would pray with tears for God to use their lives.  In the quiet by my baby's bed, I prayed God would give us a strong Christian home.  I prayed for their safety in this dangerous perverted world.
I read to my children every day.  I loved reading, " Uncle Author Bed Time Stories "  these books have a lot of stories that teach biblical character.  We read through those books a number of times through the years.  I constantly quoted verses and sang songs to my children to remind them to make the right decisions.  Sometimes singing works better than scolding.
We listened to all the "Patch the Pirate" songs.  These songs are cute, fun and teach deep biblical truth that helps our children resist doing the wrong things.  We also listened continuously to "Odyssey", from "Focus on the Family."    This was a family activity...We listened for hours when traveling.  We listened in the afternoon as the kids colored.  We listened to the daily broadcast.  They listened after lights out as they drifted off to sleep.  We were excited about the next episodes.  My kids still love "Odyssey" even though they're both grown.  We avoided watching the Saturday morning cartoons and instead we marched together as a family with Uncle Charley from the Children's Bible Hour.  My Kids woke up to Christian Radio..every Saturday morning.  Their Saturday morning  started out with hearing...."RAAAANGER BILLL"!
I always pushed devotions in our home.. We routinely read devotions together as a family.  When our kids were little we used the "Keys for Kids" for our family devotions.  When they got older we read the scripture along with the "Daily Bread Booklet along with reading the Bible reading.  We did this for years.  Then my children started doing them faithfully on their own.
I tucked my children into bed and prayed with them every night.  Sometimes they would start opening up about something that was bothering them.  I would pray with them about the problem, talked about forgiveness and not going to bed angry and sang to them gently until they felt at peace and sometimes laid beside them until they went to sleep. Our family went faithfully to Sunday School and Church Services.  There were a few times we became inconsistent, but we learned our lesson.  I learned a long time ago... We can't do things without God.  We were not perfect but no one could ever say we didn't care or never tried.  Sometimes times we made some bad decision, but by Gods grace, we got back on track.
Maybe it's time for your family to get back on track.  Maybe you're not being consistent with the important things.  If you take care of your families biblical needs first..everything works out better in the long run.  Being consistent is delivering a message to your children.  You are telling your children..."This is important and this is how we should live."  You are telling your children..."God is important and we need to put Him first."

What are your choices for teaching your children?

Christmas Miracles

Christmas Miracles

White lace of winter;
Comes silently down.
Pine trees are decked with;
White all around.

Houses and fences;
Have wreaths and red bows.
Snowmen stand tall;
With coal eyes and a nose.

Pleasing the sweet sound;
The children at play.
Rolling and building;
In the snow all day.

Coa coa  and hot food;
Their mother prepared.
The house smells so good;
It's so pleasant there.

A blanket warming;
By the fireside.
The giggling children;
Cuddling side by side.

Christmas Eve, Joyful!
Fond memories made.
A home of comfort;
Christmas music played.

Evening has fallen;
The tree stands aglow.
Dancing to music;
A beautiful show.

By the fire side;
Their daddy tells them;
How Jesus was born;
And came to save them.

As they drift asleep;
He sings lovingly.
Of God's love for them;
Then sits silently.

The tree lights dancing;
A heart full of love;
A heart full of joy.
Blessings from above.

A loving family;
A quiver that's full.
The simple pleasures;
Christmas miracles.

"I love you daddy."
A voice could be heard.
Then he tucks them in;
Then nothing else stirs.

THANKSGIVING:

THANKSGIVING:

A day of thanks unto God for the great bounty of not just the harvest,
But for the bounty of love that God has allowed us to know and enjoy.
It has been set aside to honor Him, remember Him and praise Him.

A day of feasting and celebration of family and
to acknowledge Gods graciousness to us.

We as a nation have not deserved the great blessings
bestowed by God Almighty.  His great creation itself rejoices and shouts
of His goodness.  For this blessing alone we should be thankful.

His provision, for us as a nation, has been
astounding in comparison to other nations.  Let us return to Him and rejoice
with thanksgiving to our great God, who will never leave His child comfortless.

Let us be thankful for the provision of daily need whether
physical emotional or spiritual.  The provision of His grace that enables us
to continue on each day.

Have not the trees produced their crop and the fields their corn?
While others live in a barren waste and beg their bread?

 Still many dare to shake their fist at God while God
has been overly patient with this country.
Have not the spoiled of our country cried
the loudest in their complaints and bit the hands that fed them?

Let our thanksgiving be of a true heart,  Living a life that exemplifies
our gratefulness by our obedience to God.
A nation that forgets God and forsakes His commandments
will not go unpunished.

Lord help us to love you more and truly realize how good you are.
Help us to see how wonderfully blessed we are in this country.
Your blessings are numberless.

Let us fear what we allow to pass through our lips and
cause them to be filled with praise and thanksgiving.

Oh Lord I pray, that this country doesn't have to
suffer tremendous loss in order to see how good we really had it.
The old saying stands true,  You really don't know what you have
until it's gone.  Once it's gone we'll realize we should have been grateful.

Let us be grateful.
Let our hearts be filled with  true thankfulness.
Let us rejoice in God's  immeasurable blessings.
Gods provision and His grace upon  this beautiful country,
 America,  our home.

Thank You, God.
Thank You.

 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God.

Show Me Your Will

Show Me Your Will

God says it plain;   As plain as day;
To follow truth and live His way.

Keep your heart clean, send forth the Light.
Live for Jesus;   Choose what is right.

Surely God grieves;   When He looks down.
In each little;   City and town.

Seeing laws passed;   That break our world.
It must anger;   Our Holy Lord.

What can I do?   I ask today.
I don't know how.   But I can pray.

Little babies;   Are thrown away.
In this evil;   Most wicked day.

Men and women;   Profess to love.
But will not serve;   Our God above.

One man, one wife;   Gods family plan.
Has been attacked ;   By evil man.

Oh, the children;   That suffer so.
That have no place;   No place to go.

No mothers care;   There's no one there.
To hold, to love;   To calm the fear.

A homeless man;   Upon the streets.
Begging mercy;   With tear stained cheeks.

Many faces;   I see them now.
Lord, why can't I;   Help them somehow?

What can I do?   What can I say?
Oh, guide me Lord;   Please, right away.

Show me your will;   Where should I be?
What is your plan;   Your plan for me?

Open the doors;   Show me the way.
I don't know how;   But I can pray.

The Will of God

The will of God will never take you,
Where the grace of God cannot keep you.
Where the arms of God cannot support you,
Where the riches of God cannot supply your needs,
Where the power of God cannot endow you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the spirit of God cannot work through you,
Where the wisdom of God cannot teach you,
Where the army of God cannot protect you,
Where the hands of God cannot mold you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the love of God cannot enfold you,
Where the mercies of God cannot sustain you,
Where the peace of God cannot calm your fears,
Where the authority of God cannot overrule for you.

The will of God will never take you,
Where the comfort of God cannot dry your tears,
Where the Word of God cannot feed you,
Where the miracles of God cannot be done for you,
Where the omnipresence of God cannot find you.

Colors Of Blessing - By: Susan Y Nikitenko

Treasure Box ~ Blessings

Colors Of Blessing
By: Susan Y Nikitenko 2009
Revised 2010 - 2011

Could the angels have special jobs;
Like painting leaves of fall?
Can’t mighty God do anything?
He has created all.

Perhaps angels spread forth their wings;
To paint the swirls of fall.
Upon the trees of mountain tops;
And on the forests tall.

A swish of orange, a splash of gold;
A whirl of autumn red.
Every creature great and small;
I’m sure would lift their head.

From tree to tree each color grows;
and spreads across the land.
A gift from God to be enjoyed;
Made by his perfect hand.

Each angel flying here and there;
Spreading colors of joy.
And when leaves flutter to the ground;
It makes a rainbow toy.

Children jumping, children laughing;
In the colorful mounds.
Up pops a smiling little face;
With all the fun-filled sounds.

And like a child I too will laugh;
I’ll jump right in with glee.
And enjoy these lovely blessings;
He’s given you and me.

Orange leaves of family laughter;
Red leaves a promise of grace.
Yellow a golden forever;
In the arms of God's embrace

I’m not too old to play in leaves;
Too old to have some fun.
I’ll roll around and giggle too;
and I’ll have joy in God's Son.

For He fills my heart with laughter;
He is so good you see.
He’s painted this, a lovely world;
It is inside of me.

Jumping daily in His presence;
A colorful array.
Jump into Joy, Jump into peace;
By trusting Him every day.

Jump happily, into kindness;
Jump with glee into love.
Be content and be hopeful;
Looking to Him above.

Leave a lasting essence of hope;
To all eyes watching you.
A rainbow of blessing awaits;
Come, jump into it too.

( Let's Color Our Fall Coloring Pages To Raise Money.)

Jump into a New Life, in Christ;
You'll never be the same.
He gives you a new heart, a new start;
Just call upon his holy name.

This poem has multiple purposes....I added the highlighted line to make it refer more to being born into the family of God.
