What Better Way To Start A New Year

What Better Way To Start A New Year

 What better way to start a New Year;
Make Jesus the plan for your life.
This world may offer pleasures or wealth;
But in Jesus there's eternal life.

Jesus is the answer, that is real;
Jesus is the pathway to hope.
The promise given from ancient times;
Because God truly , loves us so.

He's the same as yesterday, you know;
He's never changed since time began.
He was a permanent sacrifice;
He is salvation for ev'ry man.  (mankind)

What better way to start a New Year;
Not in vain, living for the world.
But storing up treasures in heaven:
To cast at the feet of our Lord.

He will not refuse a humble soul;
That comes to Him, with repentance.
He casts our sin, from memory;
Jesus is our greatest defense.

He paid the price for our sin that day;
Each nail, each stripe, each drop of blood.
Each agonizing breath, until death;
For us to live, because of love.

What better way to start a New Year;
Make Jesus the plan for your life.
This world may offer pleasures or wealth;
But in Jesus there's eternal life.

John 10:27-30

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
 I and my Father are one.

The Fall Guy -Devotional - John 3:16 - corrected

The Fall Guy

How many of you have  ever heard of a fall guy?   When movie makers make a movie they sometimes use a stand in.  The stand in is the one that gets wet or muddy or does a dangerous stunt.  The only thing is the star gets the credit for it by the people who are watching  the movie.  There used to be a show called "The Fall Guy" .  I watched it when I was a kid and sometimes, In the show, the fall guy would even become injured after a stunt.

I was thinking about football and I thought of a "fall guy" that plays for  the football team.  He's the one that pretends to have the ball, pretends to run with it and takes a hit in order to protect the quarterback.  While he's getting beat up, the quarterback has been given the room he needs to make a winning pass.

He takes the punishment for the quarterback in hopes to bring the whole team  one step closer to victory.  Sometimes he's not noticed, but everyone saw that great pass the quarterback threw.  Everyone saw  the wide receiver catch the ball and run it in for the score.
 Sometimes players may not want to take a hit for the whole team.  When you have one who will follow through on a trick play , better know you have a brave player on your team.

Now we know Jesus is real and everything about him is real.  When Jesus does something it's for real, it's not pretend.  The idea I'm trying to draw from the example is that Jesus took our place.  He took the fall for us.  He took our blame.

Did you know Jesus took the fall for us? He took our punishment.   He died upon Calvary for our sins.  He took our place so that we could become a winner.  We could become a child of God, saved for eternity.  We can live a victorious Christian life, because of what Christ did.  Jesus took the fall for us, let us give him our best.  Let us give him our life and let him direct our path.  He suffered, he was rejected, he was beaten, he died  all for you and me.  So we could be forgiven and made alive in Christ.  Made alive in the same way Christ arose from the dead, He becomes alive in your heart when you believe.

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

All Of The Tears Will Be Gone

All Of  The Teardrops Will Be Gone

Commit your heart to love the Lord:
To love Him, in what you do.
Commit your  heart to righteousness:
 God will be pleased, pleased with you.

Be looking to be a blessing:
Be a living sacrifice.
Be thoughtful,  be considerate;
In a world that is not nice.

Considering others better;
Better, than you do yourself.
Looking to the things of Jesus:
Is the fountain of  real wealth.

Let our lights shine in the darkness;
Pilgrims of God passing through.
Hold tight to the hand of Jesus;
When things seem - too much for you.

Suffering is not forever;
When you are a child of God.
We've a hope that's ever after;
When we leave this earthly sod.

In this life may be tears and grief;
And horrors, too great to speak.
But we know this life is temporal;
And our home awaiting sweet.

At his return, we'll be caught up;
Could be night or noon or dawn.
One day within our Savoir arms;
All of the teardrops, will be gone.

1 Thessalonians 4:17

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

John.14:2

In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
