The Winning Shoe - Susan Y Nikitenko

The Winning Shoes Intro.
By: Susan Y Nikitenko

This poem is meant to be cute, but at the same time gives an illustrative picture of a real spiritual problem and it's solution. Each shoe represents a belief. Some people trust in a false religion for example. Each shoe represents something someone is trusting in or some idea they live by that is false.
Life is something we are traveling whether it be in bed sick one day and up healthy the next.
We all wear shoes for different occasions in real life. Name brand shoes are wonderful. I love boots and I wear pumps. Hey, and They make great Christmas gifts by the way.

But when looking at this poem think deeper.
Flip flops could be instability or confusion as to what one believes concerning salvation.
Name Brand shoes could stand for one trusting in riches without a care as to where the end will take them.

Some could live a wonderful struggle free life and still in the end will not go to heaven.
Others lives may suffer in this race, but suffering doesn't earn a home heaven.
Now, I'm sure you'll all be wondering about the squeakers. Squeakers represent those that think they just might squeak by. You know, just maybe, they lived good enough to win a home in heaven.

One who is heaven bound. Must have salvation through Christ alone. And salvation is a gift from God. Salvation means you are heaven bound. Salvation means you've been born again and have
a guaranteed win, a home in heaven.

That does not mean one should live carelessly, but every Christian should strive to live a Godly example. Sin does have consequences and the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. There are rewards in heaven for those who run well and a loss of reward for those who carelessly run. But to make no effort and have no desire to please the Father through obedience of the Word...... one should make sure they truly have found salvation.

If you find yourself wearing the wrong shoes spiritually speaking and desire the right ones.....Salvations Shoes are available for you.

The Winning Shoe

We the children of earthly men;
Are running in life’s race.
Some are running, oh so slow;
Others at a quicker pace.

Most are running unaware;
Some are running with no care.
Some are running just for fun;
Some are running in a chair.

Because all in life are running;
Towards a finished end.
All will meet that final day;
It could be at any bend.

Some are wearing right shoes;
Some are wearing wrong.
Wearing wrong shoes on your run;
Makes it hard and makes it long.

I see the boots of working men;
I see the hills of fashions world.
I see the flip flops flapping by;
I see the blisters as they cry.

Trusting in a pair of shoes unfit;
Like, loafers or squeakers or pumps.
Some running down the path of life;
While griping and frowning, their grumps.

Some are laughing, some are leaping;
Still, they won’t win in the end.
By trusting in some wrong pair;
That will never, ever, get them there.

But there are runners in this race;
They wear the winning shoe.
Not the Nike, Not the Reebok;
No, No Name brand shoe will do.

Salvation is the winner’s shoe;
That gets one through to heavens gate.
For all that wear these righteous shoes;
Will win this race and celebrate.

While you’re running in some other shoes;
Traveling a road that ends in loss.
Stop right now and change your shoes;
Run to the Lord take up His cross.

Let’s run together side by side;
Wearing Salvation, the winning shoes.
When trusting in Christ the Lord;
You know you’ll never, ever lose.

Let's praise the One, Who gave His Son;
Wearing the shoes of Salvation free.
And when we cross that finished line;
How sweet our victory will be.

John 14:6
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 6:37
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Isa 42:17
They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

Scripture Verses;

1 Corinthians 9: 24 – 25
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
