Just Keep Running
Get Ready, Get Set, Go!
We are all in a race.
Many round us watching;
Better keep the pace.
Run the race before you.
The devil lingers near.
He’s placing his distractions.
He calls, “Look over here!”
He places things of value.
He places things you love.
He’s placing out temptation.
But place your sights, above.
Keep going, just keep going;
All this world’s but loss.
Keep your eyes fixed, steady;
On Him, who suffered our cross.
Pick up those, beside you
That stumble ‘long the way.
And when your legs get tired;
Stop, then listen and pray.
If the ways a struggle;
You’re pressured by your friends.
Keep on moving Forward;
And leave your friends to Him.
Keep going! You’ll win the prize.
The victory will be won.
When you hear these precious words;
Well done, my child, well done.

This poem is about continuing to move forward
even in discouraging times. The world has many distractions. We need to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, lest we forget our purpose and fall from the race. Yes, we love our friends but sometimes friends encourage us towards things not pleasing to God. Our goal is to live well, be an encouragement to others and to finish the race pleasingly to God.
