Changes In Life That Change Us

Changes In Life That Change Us

I was thinking today about my failure to use the right settings on my new camera lens.  Sometimes things happen that can cause us to look foolish.  Maybe that's one way to keep us humble.  It doesn't seem like a blessing when we have to go through a little failure.  Even if it is because someone caused you to fail by sabotaging something you might have had your heart set on.  Not to say, that's what happen to me in this case.  Sometimes when we are used to something, like my old camera lens, but trying out a new one, it takes some adjustment and practice until we are used to something new.

In football there are times kids have to say goodbye to one coach, and hello to a new coach.  It take's time to get used to the new coach.  Maybe he has a new style of coaching, but even so, you need to listen to your coach.

There are times change is needed and God will allow things in order to teach us something new.
None of us like to lose, but maybe, it will help us know how not to lose next time.

So sometimes failure could be a blessing in disguise.  There are times we just have to accept the fact that  there's just  some failures we cannot fix.  Those are the ones we have to put in God's hands and move on.  Learn from our mistakes.  Ask God to give us grace to keep going, keep giving our best and just plain trust Him.

These are things any establishment will at times go through, including a church.  It's hard to say goodbye to a pastor you love and say hello to a new pastor.  The new pastor will have new visions for the changing church.  He will need the love and patience of God's people.  He will need to know He does not have to compete with any other pastor.  He is the overseer.  He is the under shepherd and the mouthpiece that God uses through Christ.  He is to be prayed for, respected and honored, even if He's not perfect.  None of us will be perfect until the day we meet in heaven.  Part of honoring the pastor, is praying for his family consistently, honoring his wife with cooperation, in the ministry that God has given her.  She is helping her husband be successful in the ministry.  She is his help mate.  To dishonor her is to dishonor him.

No matter what we go through in life, win or lose, we have to hold onto this fact.  If we are indeed, in Christ Jesus, a saved individual, we will not lose in the end.  This is our blessed hope.  When we love God, by living for Him,  God will work out things in order to accomplish His will for us.  He does not start a work and not finish it.  He has begun a good work in you and He will perform it until the very end.  This is God's promise to his faithful children, to those who seek him, to those who love him.  He's not finished with us yet.

Through The Seasons - Corrected

Through The Seasons

God made the seasons for you and for me;
Each one brings praise and to Him much glory.
We see the small snowflake with patterns so small;
Patterns unnumbered and different, them all.

Dancing, a snowflake, finds some place to land;
Then gently rests on a child's open hand.
Building a snowman that seems eight feet tall;
Winter's a season that kids understand.

All the sweet moments the seasons bring;
Like newly born robins learning to sing.
Bright tulips of pink, purples and reds;
Refreshing each morning of a brand new spring.

Beautiful flowers abloom in the trees;
All brown meadows turning to green.
Newly born babies of all nature's friends;
More than pleasant  God's creation of spring.

Then comes hot weather close to July;
Pastures of green and orange butterflies.
Flowers scattered throughout the grassy fields;
While the Sun beams fill an unclouded sky.

Summer grows hope in the vegetable blooms;
Green corn stalks grow tall, all flowing in a sway.
The green beans grow with vines up a bean pole;
God's blessing grows something new every day.

Thunder and rain on a hot summers night;
Brings new flowers and  a sunny new day.
Thank God for the blessings of the seasons;
They spell out love in a lovable way.

Another changing season now to see;
Colorful harvest, colorful leaves.
When trees seem to sing come look at me;
But they once again give Him the glory.

With each changing season, with each new day;
There comes reasons to praise our God again.
Just as God has loved us through the seasons;
With more than mere words let us love Him.

Charge them that are rich in this world,
that they be not highminded, nor trust
 in uncertain riches, but in the living God,
who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

He's Busy Rearranging

He's Busy Rearranging

Praise the Lord,  God loves you and God loves me.
 He has a purpose for eternity.
 I believed, I received, by His grace;
He made a way and now I'm saved.

My God  is busy rearranging me;
Into the person  he wants me to be.
He's finishing the work he has begun;
Conforming  me  into the image of His Son.

When we trusted in Christ, we saw the light;
And In Jesus we have eternal life.
He paid the price for our sin with His blood;
Because Calvary was all about love.

He's busy rearranging you and me;
He's rearranging, doing the changing.
He has a plan and purpose for each one;
That our lives may glorify His Son.

When we obey, follow the narrow way;
And praise Him for each and every day.
He will lead through paths of righteousness.
By still waters we'll know His graciousness.

He will restore us,  He will uphold us;
Because His mercy is continuous.
His blessings reside again and again;
Upon all those, that put their trust in Him.

When we trusted in Christ, we saw the light;
And In Jesus we have eternal life.
He paid the price for our sin with His blood;
Because Calvary was all about love.

He's busy rearranging you and me;
He's rearranging, doing the changing.
He has a plan and purpose for each one;
That our lives may glorify His Son.

For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

When I Think About You

When I Think About You

When I think about you;
And all that you've done.
How you reached out to me;
Like the warmth of the sun.
You gave me hope again;
When I needed a friend.
I saw something in you;
That was so good and true.
You told me about Jesus;
And how He changed your life.
You told me how he loves us.
How He made your heart right.
When I think about you;
My very good friend.
You are always someone;
I can always depend.
When I think about you;
I bow my head and pray.
Because I will not forget;
What you have done for me.
Because when I needed;
Someone to care for me.
You never once doubted
That God's love could change me.

The Master Jeweler

The Master Jeweler

by: Susan Y Nikitenko
2009

I am a precious jewel;
In my Saviors sight.
Once a stone, within the ground;
Shining now, in His light.

I was dead, hid from sight;
Love, it dug me out.
When my night was brought to light;
Angels praised and jumped about.

I am special in His hand;
A diamond, dingy, dark and dim,
And He is busy molding me;
Into a perfect, Holy Gem.

In this world of dirt and rock;
There lies hidden treasures, lost.
Busy now, He looks for them;
He bought them at the cross.

While He chips your dross away;
With pressure, in the fire.
Remember, He’s the master jeweler;
Your beauty, His desire.

So put yourself, in His hands;
And take His change, as love.
When others see you shining;
They’ll trust in Him, above.

Sometimes - By: S Nikitenko

Treasure Box ~ Trusting God Through Hardship

Sometimes

Sometimes joy’s river ceases to flow.
Sometimes dark clouds, loom down long and low.
Sometimes great storms, hold back the sun.
Sometimes you just want to hide or run.

Look onward to our heavenly home.
Remember His promise, you’re not alone.
Fly like a bird, on the winds of His grace.
Find sweet assurance in His embrace.

Sometimes life’s pains are hard to bare.
Sometimes our heart, groans deep in despair.
Sometimes shadows of death pass by.
Sometimes alone, we cry out, Why?

Take the hand of God’s merciful love;
Who calms the sea and sent His Dove.
The God of all that lives and breaths;
Who made the rocks, the winds, the seas,

Will lead you through your darkest night,
Will help you through the terrible fight.
He’ll hold you up and you will stand.
He’ll lead you through, hold tight His hand.

And as the rains and storm winds blow;
The peace of God will ease pains flow.
Hold fast to faith, the shield of power;
And know your God wants you to flower.

Sometimes, the greatest fruitful child;
Has suffered through the greatest test.
And though the pain takes time to heal;
Remember Child, God’s love is real.

All night will shine like a new day;
When storm clouds lift and drift away.
Through parting clouds light will appear;
Our God will ease our ev'ry fear.

His loving touch will brush our tears;
And heal all pain, from worldly years.
Forevermore sweet smiles will shine;
And all our cares be left behind.

The Butterfly
A man found a cocoon for a butterfly. One day a small opening appeared, he sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole.
Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could and could go no farther. Then the man decided to help the butterfly.
He took a pair of scissors and snipped the remaining bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily.
Something was strange. The butterfly had a swollen body and shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand to be able to support the body, which would contract in time.
Neither happened. In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and deformed wings. It was never able to fly.
What the man in his kindness and haste did not understand, was that the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the small opening of the cocoon are God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings so that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.
Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our life.
If God allowed us to go through all our life without any obstacles, that would cripple us. We would not be as strong as what we could have been.
Not only that, we could never fly.
