We Are Not Perfect

  We Are Not Perfect

   Today I've been thinking about all the things I didn't finish writing yet.  Even though it's no longer the fall and we are headed into a New Year.  I decided to write about the wood pumpkins I made a couple years ago.  I  didn't sand them at the time and said I liked them that way for a reason.  It would give me an opportunity in the future  like this moment to let you know that God takes us just as we are but through difficulties, love  and His Word He sands down all the rough edges.  Now those pumpkins really had no choice but to be sanded down.  I did finally sand them down and completed them.  However God is still working on us each day as we yield to Him and to His purpose for our lives.  Sometimes that purpose is not quite clear but still the same we wait upon His purpose.  God loves us just as we are but is
working on us as we trust Him to make us what he wants us to be.  When a person gets saved it does not mean that that person is perfect, it means they are willing to let God make the changes.  God does not reject anyone who humbly comes to Him with a genuine heart of faith.

   Recently I was asked to have a book reading club, I agreed to a bible reading.  I chose the book of Luke and talked about Mary because the Christmas season was upon us.  The topic was " Why did God choose Mary?"  It was during that lesson God spoke to me, while I was teaching.

2 Chronicles  16:9
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to shew himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward him.

The word perfect is the word that stands out to me here:
The truth of the matter is that none of us our perfect and we will never be perfect until we as children of God enter heaven's gate.
Mary, though most favored above other women, was not perfect but was seen as perfect because of her hearts willingness, purity and faith. Mary herself called Jesus her Saviour.   Joseph was also favored because of His fear and faith.
God also chose Noah because of His fear and faith of God.  He too was favored above all living during that time. He was the only believing man of faith, leading His family into righteous living.

Mary was not perfect, but was seen as perfect because of her faith in the coming Messiah.  She was raised to love God and fear Him.  She was taught about the Messiah.  She was faithful and believing before God chose her.

Colossians 1:28
Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: - Every man - (means mankind)

Our goal as Christians should be-  to keep our goals, our thoughts, our motives, and our actions where they need to be while seeking God's blessing and looking for God's guidance through life.    This is what we find to be true, when we become children of God.  If our first goal is to please God, we will do the right things because we love Him and believe Him.
We will be seen as perfect in our Heavenly Father's sight.  We must be willing to have those rough edges sanded, submitting ourselves to the Father God's will.
It is a fascinating thought to know that God is searching for people whose heart is perfect towards Him.
People who have made Him the most important part of their lives.  People whose greatest desire is to please the Lord and live a life of faith.  They were not perfect people but were seen as perfect because of Christ and His shed blood and their desire to  please God.

In Hebrews God recognizes men and women who did things because of through faith
and it was counted unto them as righteousness... It was in those actions God worked through them.

Colossians 4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

God's still working on me and He is still working on you too.
We just have to keep on going forward, keep our hearts right, resist the devil and
be willing to change.  If that's what God wants that's what matters.

Who does God see as perfect?, all those trusting Christ who love Him more than anything else.
Those who want to please Him more than anything else and keep themselves pure in an evil day.
Those under the soul saving blood of the Lamb.

We must pray for each other, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Let Us Pray

Father God, I pray that you will speak to those seeking your will today, those who are discourage, those who are hurting and those that are questioning,
Lead them back to you, restore their faith show them the direction you would have them take.
I pray that each one will make a new commitment to you for this coming new year.
In Christ Name I Pray This - Amen

Jesus will take anyone willing to come to Him by faith, accepting you as one of His beloved.
Christ died for your sins and raised from the dead - making salvation available for all.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
 Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Faith Leads Us

Faith Leads Us

Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

When we are without Christ, God says, we are lost,  like a lost coin or a lost lamb.  When we say someone is lost it is definitely not a cut down, but it is a fact that without Christ that is what we all are. He loves us enough to call for us and seek us until we are found.  This is the very reason He sent the Christ child who grew up to pay the debt that we could not pay.

When we have heard the call of God upon our hearts.  When we understand that we are lost without Christ then is when  we are left with a choice.  A choice to be saved and pulled from certain death.  The death I'm talking about is an eternal death, which the Bible calls hell.  When someone says someone is lost "in a Biblical way".   It means they have not  found Christ or accepted Christ and they remain in their sins before God.

Not too long ago I didn't use a coupon I was given for an arts and craft purchase.  I asked by email,  if I could be reimbursed, but no one responded,  I guess it was too late and I had to pay the cost.
 If we die in our sins and have not  applied the gift of God to our lives, after death it is too late.  That's why God tells us in His Word, "NOW  is the day of salvation."  Maybe somehow I could of found a way to use my coupon (by asking for a full refund and repurchasing.)   With Jesus it's
different ,  He only paid once for all.  If we are truly saved we are always saved.
 The question is are we truly saved?  That is why God tells us to make our calling and election sure.
He wants us to examine our own hearts and know without a shadow of doubt that we are saved.
This is how we "wear the shield of faith."  Our faith is vital for us  as a Christian, but if that piece is missing  something other can come and fill our hearts.  Doubt  causes drought in the heart of a Christian and keeps a lost one from being  saved.  The bible teaches us that an unbelieving heart is evil .  In it's condition of faithlessness,  our prayers are hindered as a faithless Christian and sometimes causes us to punt, when we should pray.  Are lost  souls worth fighting for?  Is our marriage worth fighting for?   Is our relationship with God worth fighting for?  Are our children worth fighting for?
Then we must pray in faith and live by faith.  Without faith it is impossible to please God and it is by faith our prayers are answered and impossible becomes possible.

Faith leads us to fear God.  Faith leads us to be honest and just.  Faith leads us to be merciful and kind.
Faith leads us to serve confidently through Christ.  Faith leads us to change what needs to be changed.
Faith leads us to forgive ourselves and forgive others and love them.  We serve a Saviour who changes hearts, minds, lives and the change is real.  Faith is the substance of things hope for both now and eternity to come.    We must live by faith because faith rises above fact.  The reason is with ( God all things are possible and we should wear these thoughts as wisdom around our very being.  Because without faith, we will utterly fail.  I pray we will not faultier  in our faith.

By Our Measure Of Faith

All would be lost if we doubted the cross.
For he suffered and died and God never lies.
He gave and forgave- He loved us by grace.
Our Lord blesses us by our measure of faith.

This world can deceive when we fail to believe;
The prayer of  faith restores joy to its place.
To love Him, serve Him, we must turn from our sins;
His peace rules our hearts when we're living by faith.

A Chorus - I Wrote This Today
By: Susan Y. Nikitenko

Are you living by faith today?  Have you lived a life doubting your salvation?  As Christians we can know 100% whether or not we will go to heaven when we die.  There's verses in the Bible that teach us we can know.  We can know because it's not because of anything we have done, It's because of what Christ did for us and it's through our gratefulness that we should love Him and serve Him.  There's only one way to heaven, it's through Christ alone and what He did upon the cross for us.  You could live a nearly perfect life and still not go to heaven.  It only takes one sin to send a person to an everlasting fire at death.  The sin of disbelief which is the rejection of Christ as the only Way of salvation.  The rejection of trusting Him as your personal Saviour.  If we trust in our own works we are trusting in our own righteousness.  God tells us that our righteousness is as filthy rags.  Our righteousness will never get us into heaven.  It is the righteousness of Christ and His shed blood as the spotless lamb of God without sin. The perfect sacrifice.  He took our place, He paid our debt.  He conquered death by arising from the dead.
It is by this great miracle that salvation can happen in the heart of every sinner who will accept Christ by faith.  We are saved by grace (mercy) through our faith.  If you have been doubting your salvation or doubting God's blessing, if your faith is being tested by the problems of life, or troubled by anxiety and strife.  Let our faith lead us to praise as we seek Him in prayer.

Father God,  Open the eyes of those seeking truth today. Lead them to understand and accept your Truth by faith.  Overcome the differences in communication that the blind may see and the deaf may hear what the will of the Lord God is.  Bind Satan and keep Him at bay.  Open the eyes of those that desire to know you.  Teach us each one to praise you through our problems.
Let us know your joy even in life's most troubling times.  Keep us from evil, keep our hearts guarded through the evils of this life.  Save the lost, give us the words, give us the strength, give us of your love, give us the go we need.  I ask these things boldly in the name of Christ Jesus, your precious Son, the joy of my soul and the joy of all those who put their trust in Him.

Jesus Knew Prejudice

Jesus Knew  Prejudice

Though I do not agree with everything Trump does or says, I still stand by our President as the best for the job at this time.  I pray for Him, it is a tremendous responsibility, being the leader of a great nation.
     I appreciate the fact that He acknowledges God, but was disappointed at His choice to call names while addressing the NFL who  chose to make a stand against our nation.  Whether they meant that or not, that's what they did, they told the whole world something.

    I do not agree that those who chose not to stand by our flag  are doomed for hell because of their actions, however I do believe it delivers a message of weakness to other countries.  It makes us look weaker as a nation.  They are thrilled to hear of our divisions as a nation.

It is a fact that there are prejudices in this country.  I believe some white people are prejudice against blacks  as well as some black people are prejudice against whites.  There are many prejudices in our country, some people hate Slavic people, some people hate Jews, some people hate whites, some people hate overweight people, some people hate Christians, some hate the poor, the uneducated, the handicapped, some people hate anyone different than themselves.

   So what does God call us to do? God calls people, to love Him,  to trust him and to pray.  He calls us to humble ourselves, turn from our sins and turn back to Him.  In doing so, He will heal our land and teach us to love one another in spite of our  differences.  God calls us to speak against sin but that does not mean we should hate or torment people if we do not agree with them.  God changes everything just as turning from Him changes everything.  God tells us what the change will be if we choose His ways of doing things... He will heal or land.  We all have people who do not like us, we've all had people treat us unfairly, we've all felt the pressures of prejudice in some way.

   We are more than over comers as we trust the Saviour through the troubles in life.  We all have gone through the unjust treatment of others in some way.  God calls us to forgiveness and the restoring of our souls in Him.  Jews have known great prejudice and persecution.  Jesus was among them, He was not a white man, He was a Jew.  Jesus reached out to people different than himself and loved them.

   He ate with the sinners and the publicans and He was ridiculed for it.  He was accused falsely of being a winebibber and glutton,  Matthew 11:19 The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners.  The people Jesus ate with were rejected by other people.  They knew the torments of prejudice and rejection.  Jesus loved them and won many over to Truth.

   We are called to love others in Christ while yet still standing for truth,  liberty and justice for all.

Romans 12:21
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good....

I apologies for being a little behind lately, I have been busy lately and very sick today with a migraine.

Caring For The Fallen

Caring for the Fallen

I was given  a hanging basket of mixed million bells and petunias.  I took the hanger part of it off and sat it inside a stand.  The stand was blown over during a storm and the basket of flowers  fell to the ground.  The flower was damaged in the fall, many flower limbs broke off  and it was not the perfect beauty  it once was.  I picked up all the pieces and I put the stand back into place.  I returned the basket of flowers to the stand, arranged the flowers a bit and watered it.  A few days later somehow the stand and the flower basket fell again.  It caused even more damage to the flower.  I was disappointed that the flower had been damaged so much.   I put the stand back into place, did some things to secure the stand and put the basket of flowers inside of it.  I watered the flowers and straightened out the flower branches as best I could.  The stand somehow fell at least two or three other times during the week,  but  I finally found a way to secure it so it wouldn't fall again.  I thought my flower basket of flowers would never recover from the many damaging things that had happened to it.  The remarkable thing about this basket of flowers is that after a while , it did recover and is as beautiful as it was the day that I received it.  I think it is even more beautiful  than it was when it was new.  I was very careful to take care of my basket of flowers even though it had lost its original beauty.  I did not give up on it when it had gone through shock and change.   I enjoy it more, I think because,  I watched it survive and become even more beautiful than some of my other flower baskets  that had never fallen.
     I'm so glad that God doesn't give up on us and also for the people who don't give up on us in life.
The people who love us no matter what.  We all mess up sometimes and fall short in some way.
Sometimes things are hard in life  but God will use those thing to make us more usable
and more like Him.

Thank God For The Slug?

Thank God For The Slug?

There is nothing more disgusting than a slug - it is one of the most difficult pests to get rid of in your garden.  The one thing that stands out in my mind about a slug is that it is attracted to beer.  When I was looking for a way to get rid of slugs in my garden, in most places I looked into, they would recommended beer traps.  Being a pastors wife makes it hard to go out and buy a 6 pack of beer to kill slugs.  More than likely someone would look at as though I was just hiding a drinking habit or something.  Slugs like being out late at night, so if you want your garden to be very successful , it seems to me that you have to go out late at night and remove them, so they won't destroy your plants.
The slug reminds me so much of sin and how it eats away at our relationship with God.  Sin eats at our faith  and our joy.  Sin eats away at out testimony for the Lord.  Sin is disgusting to God.  I've asked myself over and over "Is there really any blessing in a slug?  It is a most miserable job to get rid of them.  If a slug offers any kind of blessing, it's the perfect example of sin.  A slug would be the perfect example of what destroys anything good.  I think a slug is a blessing to a bird or a skunk, but definitely not to a  garden.  If it has been a blessing to me, I would say it would be a lesson in humility, a lesson to remind us how deeply God hates sin.  So if someone were to ask me why I would thank God for a slug,  I would say it taught me how God might feel about sin.

The Owl Ring

The Owl Ring

Four to six years ago, around the time I did volunteer work for the hospital, My daughter and I were buying craft supplies from Hobby Lobby  to prepare for a wedding.  I was at the register and had made a few friendly suggestions to keep some confusion from happening.  I wasn't trying to be prideful or anything, though I guess it could have been misunderstood.  Anyway an older lady, older than myself, came up to the register with a very smart attitude and held up her fist.  She had a huge ring on her finger.  It had a huge owl on it made from some heavy medal , at least that was the way it looked.   She went on to say, how much damage it could do if she hit someone with it, of course she brought attention to herself.  She was upset with me for some reason and I couldn't understand why.   I know sometimes people can stir up anger in another person by making implications that may be twisted or exaggerated.  They can sometimes cause one person to become angry at another person.  I felt that this lady was angered by another employee who exaggerated or insinuated something that angered her at me.  Therefore she rudely threatened me to hit me with her ring. It wasn't a joke, unless it was a private joke.   I noticed another employee, a young man around twenty years, he looked amused by the whole thing and was texting the incident to someone else.  I can't remember what was said after that, I just remember leaving thinking, "I can't believe that this could've ever happened at a "Hobby Lobby" store."
I know this in minor in comparison to some things that happen in stores, but usually it's the other way around.  The customer is most always treated with respect.  Then on occasion, a customer may become unhappy with a cashier.

Titus 3:2
To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers,
but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.

James 3:17
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure,
 then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated,
full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality,
and without hypocrisy.

Thoughts About Abortion - updated

Thoughts About Abortion

    I had someone say to me, in an email, something that struck my heart. They said that I could never wash my hands of what "Planned Parenthood" has done and asked me to make a donation. I wasn't for sure if they were talking to me, but it made me feel as though "Planned Parenthood" had used something I had written to help them raise money for abortion. I have said from the get go, that I would not support abortion nor did I want anything of mine to help them raise money for it.

   I've thought about this many times and asked myself, "Will God be able to wash his hands of what others do if they misuse His Word?" ( the bible). God will not answer for any of what we do, we will be held accountable for how we misuse God's Word. The same with anything I have written. If others have misused anything that I have written, if they tried to change it into something ugly. (evil,dirty,) That's not my fault, that's injury against me and also to God.

Other Thoughts
-----------
I've gone through some interesting things, things I've never encountered in my entire life.  This may sound like a Halloween story because it was something that
happened, believe it or not, just before Halloween.  I was painting the chicken coop bright red and also the rocking chair which I was restoring.  I was using a white sheet that had already been slightly paint stained.  I was cleaning up, but the sheet I left laying to dry.  I was thinking if someone saw this they might think it was blood.  I looked at my hands and I looked at the sheet and a feeling of horror
went through my heart. I wept as I looked at the red on my hands.  A strong feeling of guilt rushed through me like I've never felt and I began to cry.   As tears ran down my face, I shook , as I prayed. "Dear God, do I have blood on my hands"? I repeated it over and over in my tears.  I was alone, and no one could understand.    I was
blaming myself for many things.  I was heartbroken but could not seem to speak of it.
Many things whether real or imagined, but either way they were very upsetting.
I was blaming myself for some things that had come to pass.  This was brought about because of many things I have held inside my heart for a very long time.

I bundled up the red stained sheet and put it inside an old fashioned pot setting
outside on our shed porch and put a lid on it.  I was able to wash all the red off my hands.
I could not keep blaming myself for something other people caused.

Maybe God was telling me to stop blaming myself because that's what I did.  I stopped blaming myself.  Maybe God was restoring something broken in me.

A Wandering Alzheimer's Patient

A Wandering Alzheimer's Patient

I can not remember how long ago this was exactly but within the last seven years or so,
I noticed an old man walking from the hospital.  He walked towards our home and across the street.
He wandered into the neighbor's yard. Our neighbors were not at home. I never went into our neighbor's yard when they were not at home.   I called to him
and asked him if everything was okay.  I went into the neighbors yard because the man seemed confused.  I noticed He was wearing a tag that said alzheimer's, but because I saw where he wandered from I decided to bring him back to the hospital.  I told him to come with me and he listened.
I held my arm out and asked him to wait until it was safe to cross.

We safely crossed the street and I lead him to the hospital.  We went into the hospital door but there was no one at the visitor's desk.
I tried to use the phone for information but I couldn't get it to work.  So I called out loudly asking for some help.  "Could someone please help me, there is no one at the visitor's desk!"  People came from their offices, one man seemed shocked by me, almost fearful.  I guess I came across as very demanding. I just knew they needed to know someone had wandered from the hospital, it could of been devastating.  They could of been doctors for all I know.  I told them the man had wandered from the hospital and someone there needed to contact his family.  The last thing that I remembered is that I told the man goodbye and that I would be praying for him.

I've heard many stories of people with  alzheimers who wander into the woods and die there because they can not find their way home.  God must of meant for me to be here to stop him from going into the woods.  I've often wondered why God has put us here where we live.  Maybe it was one of the reasons.

Stories About Dogs

 Stories About Dogs

I will be adding to this post so check back.

Aggot

When we first moved to this home we were greeted the first day by our neighbor's dog barking
at our front door.  Our neighbor apologized and told us the neighbors before us treated the dog with biscuits.  We asked if we could give the dog treats and they were ok with it.  We really didn't have any problem with the dog visiting and we gave him a treat, we did this for many years.  We cared about  Aggot (his name) and we were very careful when we pulled out of our driveway because he would always be there when we would leave or come home.  We were afraid of hitting him with our car.  He did this with all visiting his home as well.  Sometimes he would be very close to the edge of the road and  would try calling to him because I was afraid he would get run over.  We didn't want anything to happen to Aggot.

There were only two times I remember him pooping in our yard. I understood that's what happens
sometimes when a dog is around.
Though if it would of been a regular occurrence, we probably would have become unhappy about it.
The neighbor came to clean it up, but did a very unusual thing.  While I was speaking to him
he acted as though I spoke rudely to him.  He even made movements and looked shocked as though I was
being unkind to him. My back was turned to the hospital which stands in front of our home and I was wondering who was he putting a show on for and wondered if we were being watched from the hospital.

 It was kind of what they do at the football games. ( a fake play.)

After our neighbors moved away we heard from our neighbor's dad that
 Aggot was run over and died after moving into the new place.
We felt sad for our neighbors and also for Aggot.

 A few years ago I wanted to plant a vegetable garden but had nowhere to plant one.  I asked my Son in-law if I could plant at his grandfather's property.  I planted a few things and they grew and produced vegetables.    I grew some squash, tomatoes and peppers.  I had helped other people in my childhood in their gardens but never tried growing vegetables myself.

   Something happened though that was a disappointment to me.  The neighbor's dogs didn't use the bathroom in their own yard.  I would go to check on the few vegetables I had planted and I would find  the dogs had pooped right by the vegetables I had planted.  The man who lived next door owned a mowing service, maybe even did landscaping.

 I was happy I was able to grow vegetables and I gathered the vegetables but we didn't eat any of them.  Knowing the garden was pooped and peed on was not appetizing at all.

Maggie

I don't know if you remember me talking about Maggie, Maggie was one of our neighbor's three dogs.  Maggie was a Rottweiler.  One day while I was about to work in one of our flower beds, which is located out by the road.  I said hello to our neighbor and Maggie was standing beside of him.  Something very unusual happened.  Every time  I stretched my hand to touch one of my flowers in the flower bed, Maggie would growl.  Every time I withdrew my hand, Maggie would stop growling.  I tested it by repeating the same movement.  Maggie would growl each time and would cease to growl when I withdrew my hand.  Maggie was telling me not to touch the flower.  I thought to myself, "Why would Maggie tell me not to touch the flowers in my own flower garden?"  She must have known something  I didn't.  So I started to observe the flower  I was about to touch.  I noticed at the very top of it was an earwig.  I wondered if Maggie knew there was an earwig on the flower and how she would know one was there.  Maybe Maggie saw something that made her know it? or maybe it wasn't the earwig at all.

Maybe she thought for some reason those were her gardens.

We Need To Keep Our Candle Lit

We Need To Keep Our Candle Lit

I choose to joy in the life that God has given me;
Just knowing He has loved and forgiven me.
I choose to joy in the presence of the Lord my God;
I choose to live for Him with joy faithfully.

Though at times I've felt alone, rejected and mocked;
Tempted to be angry upset and to quit.
I know God will give me wisdom in my choices each day;
I choose to have joy and to keep my candle lit.

We need to keep our candle lit, as we love the Lord.
Prayin'  ev'ry day, keep the devil away.
There are consequences for the choices that we make;
That's why we need to stay close to God each day.

Love one another, be tender hearted and kind;
Confess our sins daily, walk worthy and shine.
He will give us strength, mount us up on eagle's wings;
All things work together for good, in His time.

I choose to joy in the life that God has given me;
Just knowing He has loved and forgiven me.
Because He is the joy that fills my heart that makes me sing;
I choose  to have joy and to keep my candle lit.

We need to keep our candle lit, as we love the Lord.
Prayin' ev'ry day, keep the devil away.
There are consequences for the choices that we make;
That's why we need to stay close to God each day.

I choose to joy in the life that God has given me;
Just knowing He has loved and forgiven me.
Because He is the joy that fills my heart that makes me sing;
I choose  to have joy and to keep my candle lit.

 Psalms 30:5b
weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

 Romans 8:28
And we know that all things work together
for good to them that love God, to them who
are the called according to his purpose.

It's About A Miracle

It's About A Miracle

What makes Easter special? A lot a people need to know;
It's about a miracle,  about life, about victory.
Easter is a celebration of the Resurrection;
Jesus is alive and gives life to those to whom believe.

He was put to death upon the old rugged cross of shame.
He hung from the nails, had to lift His body for each breath.
Blood streamed from His thorny crown, gushed from  His side to the ground;
There was only one way for our redemption, through His death.

But rejoice evermore, He arose, He lives , He shall reign.
The stone was rolled away, that shout hallelujah day.
Praise His name, praise His name, Jesus lives now forevermore;
In both our heart and heavenly places we will dwell one day.

Jesus  is the light of life,  He is the Resurrection;
He's the Shepherd of our heart, He leads us in paths true.
Just as Easter comes alive in spring, we see it in ev'rything;
When we believe in  the Resurrection , all thing become new.

Chorus:
It's about a miracle, the miracle of grace, our sins in Him erased.
It's about  love, It's about life, A new life found in Christ.
The Resurrection is the victory,  salvation for all who believe.
A new heart, a new direction, a new birth, a resurrection.

It's about a miracle, the miracle of grace.

John 11:25
Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

Pray Today

Pray Today

Let us a pray today for President Trump and also our armed forces as they endeavor to deliver a hurting people.  Our President has had to make a very hard decision.  It is our duty as American citizen to stand up for those that cannot protect themselves.  I'm reminded today of the millions and millions of Jewish, Ukrainian and Eastern European  peoples that were taken by force into the slave labor camps during World War II.  Many of them were very young, I think of my husband's mother who was taken unwillingly from her family at around 13 years of age.

Millions and millions of people died in the Nazi camps, murdered mercilessly.  Gassed in masses and their bodies thrown together into piles upon piles.  There had to be crying out to God for deliverance from a hell on earth.  They had to watch the Nazi soldiers kill family members and friends.  This is just a small, small corner of the horrific crimes of Nazi terrorism.

I remember my husband's mother told of the day she saw Americans coming into the camp where she was.  She literally saw freedom walking her way.   She was a young adult by the time the GI's came into the camp.  Thousands or more were delivered with God's help.  Many Ukrainians were brought to America where they found freedom.  My husband was born here, in America, as the youngest child.  He would not exist  today if it weren't for the compassion of America.  My husband would not be my husband and my children would not be my children.  We would not exist as a family.

Sometimes we have to do hard things for the sake of others.  It is our duty to protect innocent people who are helpless to help themselves.
Nobody likes war and it is a very scary thing, but sometimes what is right to do, requires sacrifice.  We know that President Trump does not want war, but when innocent people are being  helplessly killed, duty demands action.

I do not pretend to be a scholar on the matters of war, but  I do understand the heart behind the decision.   Pray today that it will not be necessary for future action.  Pray that our warning as Americans, will be heard and heeded by the Syrian government.

Woman At The Well

Woman At The Well

God tells us to be gentle and tenderhearted. When the woman was at the well Jesus treated her with kindness and wisdom, but still said what He needed to say. He could of, smashed her with words of condemnation, but instead, he reasoned with her in His compassion and gentleness. She would not have listened otherwise because she already knew she was nothing. It does matter how you say things. Words should have a heart of love behind them. Some people can not be won unless they know you love them.

All God’s People Praise His Name

All God’s People Praise His Name

Good morning, All God’s people:
May we lift our hearts in praise.
For many are his blessings;
Even angels stand amazed.

At His greatness, His mercy:
His unconditional love.
His holiness, His pardon:
Most bless-ed, perfect white dove.

He speaks, and nature obeys;
He’s there and evil departs.
His forever forgiveness;
Has reached the hardest of hearts.

Praise His name,  hallelujah.
All God’s people praise His name.
Praise His name,  hallelujah.
All God’s people praise His name.

Good morning, All God’s people;
In joyfulness, may we spout.
Of our Savour, bless-ed Christ:
What Salvation's all about.

Let us gather together
In one place, in one accord.
Let’s get our marching orders
As we live for Christ our Lord.

Good morning, All God’s people;
Come now rejoice, let us sing.
Bringing glory, praise His name
Jesus Christ, Our Lord and King.

Praise His name,  hallelujah.
All God’s people praise His name.
Praise His name,  hallelujah.
All God’s people praise His name.
