Did They Say He Was Powerless?

Did They Say He Was Powerless?

As they  platted the thorny crown;
And placed it upon His head.
Did they say He was powerless -
To do anything He said?

As they lifted Him to the cross;
Thrust  nails within His hands.
Did they say He was powerless-
 When the winds know His command?

When the last nail pierced His feet;
Did they cheer at his defeat?
Did they say He was powerless -
When His blood dripped from His feet?

As they mocked and watched Him anguish;
Near His final suffering breath;
Did they say He was powerless -
As they watched life turn to death?

Many arose from the grave of death;
Just after our Savior died.
Did they say He was Powerless -
When the earth was opened wide?

As darkness filled the sky in grief;
Earth shook and opened its graves.
Surely this was the Son of God;
The centurion was saved.

When He was placed within the tomb;
With a  great stone placed before.
Did they say He was powerless -
When He appeared at the door?

It may have looked like His defeat;
As they took His body down.
But Jesus is all powerful;
The power of death was bound.

All death and hell were cast down;
When He arose from the grave.
Jesus is all-powerful ;
And did all to seek and save.

Our Lord was never powerless;
Though it seemed so dark and grim.
And with all power in Jesus name;
We walk in power with Him.

Luke 23: 25

And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

Matthew 27: 51-53

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
And the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

Come Alive For The First Time

Come Alive For The First Time

What a morning it was, to find the tomb  was empty.
Oh what a morning, a morning to be blessed.
To find, you had risen from the dark grave as you said.
After days of tears and nights of sleeplessness.

Like the flowers arising, past the strength of winter;
Like the sun greeting with a new daybreak.
Like a baby chick hatching from its egg into light;
Like the dead seeds of the forests awake.

You arose from the grave of death and hell into life;
You conquered the curse upon all mankind.
You paid the sin debt of every sin sick sinner;
You gave hope to the hopeless and blind.

Like the light breaking forth into the dark of midnight;
Your love lights the way for the believing.
To see for the first time, how incredible you are;
To know your peace and relieving.

Like the dry bones in Bible stories written long ago;
The dry thirsty soul can find life in Christ.
Come alive for first time knowing, Jesus can save.
And that you provided everlasting life.

Rejoice In The Lord Forever - Easter

Rejoice In The Lord Forever

Rejoice in the Lord forever;
Lift up your voice in praise,
For God so loved the world that He;
Gave us His saving grace.

He died upon the cross that day;
Himself He freely gave.
For all the world He gave His life
So men could then be saved.

Rejoice in the Lord forever.
He gave himself to pay;
A ransom that we could not pay;
That Crucifixion day.

The soldiers took Him from the cross;
The women wailed in tears.
They put Him in an empty tomb;
Many hearts beat in fear.

But death could not overcome Him;
The stone was rolled away.
He arose more than a champion;
That Resurrection day.

Rejoice in the Lord forever;
Lift up your voice in praise.
For Jesus gave himself to die;
And now he seeks to save.
