Desiring To Be Wise

Desiring To Be Wise

In many lessons we have already taught, we learn that wisdom is something we should desire.  We know the greatest wisdom is the wisdom which God gives us as we seek him and by asking Him to direct our path.
There are some people who want to follow their own devices, feeling that they know better than the council of the Bible. I myself, do not think of myself as wise but feel that I have learned some wise things in which I have applied to my life.  All those who follow the truths of the Biblical Proverbs have chosen to be wise by following the precepts that are taught to us.  None of us have arrived in the learning of wisdom, but are becoming wiser as we seek God and His wisdom from above.
There are those who think they know it all and think they could never fall.  Just this attitude itself shows
a fracture in the wisdom they possess.
We know that if we fear the Lord, then is when we start to learn what wisdom is.  The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
I once was accused, of thinking, I was being wise in my own eyes, but if they really knew me they would know I had to take a step of faith, by being willing to fail.  I was always afraid of failure and oftentimes would let that fear stop me from even trying.  I was always afraid of being made a fool out of, but I became willing to look foolish in order to overcome everything inside myself- that kept me from teaching.  I no longer looked at the failures of my past as a reason to resist being what God wanted me to be.  Instead, I looked at His forgiveness and put my confidence in what He would do through me, simply by taking a step of faith in the right direction.

I've never claimed to be perfect, never claimed to be wise, but instead have sought to become better and to be wiser.  I think this is a worthy goal for any Christian.  If we are living in obedience to Christ and are seeking His will for our lives...then we know we are on the path of wisdom.

Proverbs 2:3-5
Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;  If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God
