Inconveniences and Problems - Devotional

 Inconveniences and Problems

Sometimes things happen in our lives because God has something He wants us to learn in life.  One time years ago,  I went with a friend  to visit her parents.  On the way home, the car had over heated and we were able to get the problem resolved before we actually left her hometown.  I made this comment,  "Thank the Lord, this happened here before we got on the highway or we wouldn't be able to find water or a phone." At that time not many people had cell phones.  We certainly did not have one.
     While on the highway with no gas station or help in sight, the car overheated again and we started to pray because we thought we would be stranded.  We had to stop because the car was steaming.   Then was when I recalled my own words, "Thank the Lord this happened here before we got on the highway or we wouldn't be able to find water or a phone."
     We prayed not knowing exactly what we were going to do.  We were far away from home.  While we were looking around a car passed by and the person offered us the use their cell phone.  Then rejoicing, we noticed a puddle of fresh rainwater nearby.  We were able to find both a phone and water.
    I guess that God wanted me to know that He can supply our need wherever we are.. whether out in the middle of nowhere or right in our own backyard.
   God sometimes allows inconvenient things to happen in our lives so that we may receive a blessing from God's people.  Sometimes our inconvenience is the avenue in which God will shower his love upon the one who needs help, by the giving love of brothers and sisters in Christ.  God will love us through them.   Our inconvenience is sometimes a way for God to be glorified.
    One thing that I've learned through the years is to praise God even through difficult times and inconveniences.  While waiting upon the Lord, I've learned to praise him through the asking for help and provisions.  Choosing to be content is choosing to remain joyful while waiting for the Lord to answer our prayers and supply our need.  Sometimes God will use a person who has no idea there being used by God.  In this way God is also glorified.  It is in those times God will give an opportunity to speak to someone of God's grace.
     Many times inconveniences and problems are avenues in which God teaches us something wonderful about His love for us and also teaches us to love and rest in Him.

Devotional: Inconveniences and  Problems

John 14:13
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
 John 14:14
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Psalms 37:7
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

He Paid The Price For Me

He Paid The Price For Me

Jesus paid the price for me;
He, the innocent perfect lamb.
I've been forgiven, I'm loved;
Now hold my Saviour by the hand.

He's lead me to green pastures;
Where He has spoken to my soul.
My redeemer has saved me;
He has made my broken heart whole.

By the peaceful stream of truth,
The open pages of scripture.
He has spoken encouragement;
Now in Him I can endure.

He has sheltered me with love;
He has led me through righteous paths.
Comforted me in my sorrow;
He has forgiven all my past.

He came out into the night and called;
"Come now my child and follow me.
The power of sin is broken;
I paid the price at Calvary."

Now I belong to Jesus;
The gates of  hell have not prevailed;
Jesus is my salvation;
In His ways I have set my sail.

Mark 10:45
For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Joy Will Shine When Morning Shines

Joy Will Shine When Morning Shines

With many tears and troubled years;
We wonder if it's worth it all.
With no respect, sometimes neglect;
With sad hearts, our countenance falls.

Sometimes it's hard to lift your eyes;
To say hello, to say goodbye.
When sadness reigns, through silent pain;
When the tears have weakened our eyes.

Tears may fall all through the nighttime;
But joy will shine when morning shines.
When Jesus comforts through the praise;
His healing love comes right on time.

May we face each day with knowing;
There is a place prepared above.
Continue in His joy, my friend;
Find peace His comfort and love.

One day the heavens will open;
 Jesus will stand in the sky.
This world will be a memory;
As we wave to this world goodbye.

Forever joy comes on that day;
When all tears will vanish away.
Heaven will be yours and be mine;
Yes, joy will shine when morning shines.

Don't Be A Judas

Don't Be A Judas

(Selling Out Your Team)

When I thought of this lesson I automatically wanted to use football as the illustration.  I've asked myself,  "Why do I keep referring to football?"  I never was that much into football not even as a kid.  I've never played any kind of band instrument and I've never been a cheerleader.  I was in the pep club for a brief time as a teenager.  I wasn't really anything special except I did make the honor roll when I tried to.
My husband was a football player and loves football, so the majority of my life has included football.  I have been in the football stands nearly our whole marriage.

One important thing I've learned from football is teamwork.
Teamwork is very important in the winning of the game.  When a team works together, motivates each other and listens to the coach they most likely will be an effective team.

I have heard of an illegal practice where a player or team gets paid off to cause a loss of his own game.  They choose to become rich at the expense of others.   Some teams even being blackmailed into throwing a game because of illegal gambling.  I have often wondered if this kind of gambling could even happen among the players themselves.

Even so on any team whether political, business, sports, or the home.  If we have a team that works together for the same purpose it will most likely be successful, but if we have a player or teammate secretly working against a win.  It could cause a loss for the whole team.

Nothing is more disheartening to think people work, put their heart and money into something, strive, even become older, to find they have been dooped by a supposed trusted team player.  It could also be a paid individual who is being paid to help his team win and at the same time being paid to help his team lose.

We have a spiritual battle, as Christians,  that goes on all the time.  We know the devil has many tricks up his sleeve and wants to pull us from what God wants us to do.  When we are part of God's family we should give our best effort towards the things of God.  To be sold out for the things of Christ.

 Our motivation should be higher than any earthly prosperity.  Though God does sometimes bless some with wealth, like Abraham. Abraham blessed God with his wealth but was not controlled by having wealth.

Don't be a Judas who was paid off to betray.    He loved money
more than He loved Jesus.

The bible teaches that the love of money is the root of all evil.

1Timothy 6:10
For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
