Jesus Won The Victory For Us
Our Lord came to die that we could live;
He laid down His own life.
The Lord had provided himself a lamb;
Himself, the sacrifice.
Holy, blameless, without spot, without sin;
Creator, omniscient;
God incarnate, the great Emanuel;
He took our punishment.
His blood fell upon the hill of death;
Upon the hill of scorn.
So you and I could find our way home;
So we could be reborn.
Jesus was laid in a borrowed tomb;
But death could not win.
He arose at the appointed time;
Death could not control Him.
Jesus won the victory for us;
He provided the Way.
When the light shined into the empty tomb;
On Resurrection day.
Jesus won the victory for us;
Jesus won over death.
Now on this Resurrection morning
We are so happy and blest.
