Prayer of Thanksgiving for America’s 250 Years

Prayer of Thanksgiving for America’s 250 Years

Heavenly Father, We come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the blessings You have poured upon this land. For two hundred and fifty years, You have guided our nation through trials and triumphs, through seasons of testing and renewal. You have raised up men and women who sought liberty, justice, and truth — gifts that flow only from Your hand.

Lord, we thank You for the freedom to worship, to speak, to serve, and to dream. We thank You for the beauty of our fields and mountains, our rivers and shores, and for the courage of those who have defended them. May this anniversary remind us that every good thing comes from You, and that righteousness exalts a nation.

Teach us to walk humbly, love mercy, and seek peace. Let Your Word be the lamp that guides our steps, and Your Spirit the wind that renews our hearts. Bless our leaders with wisdom, our families with unity, and our people with compassion. May America ever be a light that honors You — a nation under God, indivisible, steadfast in faith and hope.

We give You all glory for these 250 years of grace, and we trust You for the days to come.

In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

Verse 1
Lord, You raised this land in mercy,
By Your hand we stand today.
Through the storms and through the triumphs,
You have led us all the way.
From the mountains to the prairies,
Freedom’s banner has been unfurled;
You have blessed this shining nation,
A light of hope unto the world.

Chorus
We thank You, Lord, for a nation under God,
For the grace that holds us steady as we trod.
Let our hearts lift high Your praise,
Let our voices sing always—
God bless America, forever under God.

Verse 2
You have kept our fathers faithful,
You have guided every soul;
In our homes and in our churches,
You have made our spirits whole.
May we walk in truth and kindness,
May we stand for what is right;
Let Your Word be our foundation,
Let Your love be our guiding light.

Chorus
We thank You, Lord, for a nation under God,
For the grace that holds us steady as we trod.
Let our hearts lift high Your praise,
Let our voices sing always—
God bless America, forever under God.

Bridge
From sea to shining sea,
Let Your truth keep us free;
May Your peace ever be
Our song.

Final Chorus
We thank You, Lord, for a nation under God,
For the grace that holds us steady as we trod.
Let our hearts lift high Your praise,
Let our voices sing always—
God bless America, forever under God.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
