Love Rebuilds Again

Treasure Box ~
Rebuilding The Broken

Love Rebuilds Again

by: Susan Y Nikitenko

2009

Once a beauty, shiny, new;
A handsome lookin' ride.
Leather seats and fully loaded;
Smelt so good inside.

It's traveled far, has lots of miles;
Been through rain and snow.
It's been through sticky little hands;
And sometimes wouldn't go.

One day, a bashing crash;
Left it mangled, caved.
Brought it to a body shop;
In hopes it would be saved.

The specialist, worked and worked;
Until the job was through,
And now this "62" corvette;
Is sparklin', just like new.

God, He has a body shop.
Christians work for Him.
Our business is rebuilding lives;
Crushed and bashed by sin.

When we view an awful crash;
A brother, caught in sin.
Instead of judging, in our pride;
Love, rebuilds again.

A crash, could be a loss of faith;
Or sin, performed in haste.
A crash, could be, an angry heart;
In grief, some hurt now faced.

When life comes down, in a crash;
And life to them, its end.
That's the time, they need us most;
To be a Christian friend.

I wrote this after reading a sermon called
“ Rebuilding The Broken”
