Happy Easter Sunday

🌿 APRIL DEVOTIONAL & PRAYER

“He Is Risen Indeed” — A Month of Remembering God’s Goodness

🌅 A True, Heart‑Warming Easter Story

On an Easter morning in 1973, a small country church in Tennessee gathered before sunrise on a hill overlooking the valley. Among them was an elderly widow named Mrs. Carter, who had buried her husband only three weeks earlier. Her grief was deep, and her steps were slow, but she came because she said, “I must be where hope rises.”

As the pastor read, “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen” (Luke 24:5–6, KJV), the sun broke over the ridge. The light fell directly across Mrs. Carter’s face, and she whispered through tears, “The same Jesus who walked out of that tomb will walk me through this valley.”

That morning, something changed in her. Her sorrow didn’t vanish, but her strength returned. She later told the church, “The Resurrection didn’t just happen then—it happens in me every time Christ lifts my heart again.”

Her testimony strengthened the whole congregation. Many still say that sunrise service was the moment they learned that the Resurrection is not only a doctrine—it is a living comfort, a daily promise, a steadying hand for every weary soul.

And it remains true today:
Because He lives, we can face April, and every tomorrow.

Quotes from the Heart

  • “The empty tomb is God’s reminder that no night lasts forever.”
  • “Christ’s Resurrection is the anchor of the grieving and the strength of the fainthearted.”
  • “Where the stone rolled away, hope rolled in.”
  • “The Risen Lord meets us in our weakness and walks with us in renewed strength.”
  • “Grace does not fail; it rises—just as He did.”
  • “Because He lives, faith is never wasted, tears are never unseen, and burdens are never carried alone.”

🕊️ APRIL PRAYER FOR GOD’S BLESSING UPON OUR CHURCH

Heavenly Father,
We come before Thee in this blessed month of April, remembering the triumph of our Risen Lord. We thank Thee for the cross, for the empty tomb, and for the living hope that anchors our souls.

Bless our church with unity, purity, and a renewed desire to serve Thee with gladness. Strengthen the grieving, lift the weary, heal the brokenhearted, and revive every fainting spirit. Let the power of the Resurrection breathe life into every ministry, every family, and every heart.

We pray for our Pastor, that Thou would give him wisdom, courage, and joy in the work of the Lord.
Bless our church family, knitting us together in love.
Bless our homes, that Christ may be honored within our walls.
Bless our country, and guide our President with righteousness and truth.
Protect our Armed Forces, our Police, our Health and Safety Workers, and all who stand in harm’s way for the good of others.
Grant healing to the sick, comfort to the sorrowing, and salvation to the lost.

May we walk in the light of the risen Christ, who conquered death and lives forevermore.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

🫏 A Lighthearted April Smile: Melvin the Lone Donkey

Every year, the children of the church look forward to the “Resurrection Day Parade,” where the little ones carry palm branches and wave them joyfully. But this year, something unexpected happened.

Melvin the Lone Donkey—who normally minds his own business behind the fellowship hall—decided he wanted to participate.

Without warning, he trotted right into the children’s line, proudly braying as if announcing, “Behold, I bring you good tidings of great… hay!”

The children erupted in laughter. One little boy shouted, “Melvin wants to reenact Palm Sunday!”
Melvin, feeling encouraged, made a dramatic bow—only to lose his balance and roll gently onto his side. He wasn’t hurt, but he looked up as if to say, “I meant to do that.”

The whole church laughed, and even Pastor couldn’t keep a straight face.

Later someone joked, “If the Lord could use a donkey in Bible days, He can certainly use Melvin today.”
And truly—God uses even the smallest, funniest moments to bring joy to His people.

Where Hope Rose First”

In April’s quiet morning light,
When dew on blossoms clings,
We hear again the angel’s word—
The song all heaven sings.
The stone was rolled, the grave gave way,
And sorrow lost its throne;
For Christ arose in victory,
And claimed us as His own.
So when our hearts grow faint with care,
Or nights feel long and cold,
We look unto the Risen One—
Our Shepherd strong and bold.
For every April yet to come,
And every tear we shed,
Is held by Him who conquered death
And lives, just as He said.

🎶 A Hymn Stanza for April

Fill our hearts with Easter praise;

Lift our burdens, calm our fear,
Walk beside us, ever near.
By Thy triumph o’er the grave,
Strengthen faith, restore, and save;
Guide Thy church in truth and grace,
Till we see Thee face to face.

🌅 A New Resurrection Story of Renewal

“The Garden Behind the Church”

There was an old garden behind a small country church—nothing fancy, just a patch of earth where the seniors planted flowers every spring. But after a harsh winter, the garden looked hopeless. The soil was hard, the stems were brittle, and every plant seemed beyond saving.
One of the church’s oldest members, Brother Raymond, had tended that garden for nearly thirty years. But this year, he was recovering from surgery and could barely walk without help. He told Pastor, “I don’t think the garden will rise again this spring.”
But on the Saturday before Easter, something unexpected happened.
A group of children from the church—armed with tiny shovels, plastic watering cans, and more enthusiasm than gardening skill—decided they were going to “help the garden resurrect.”
They dug gently. They watered generously. They sang hymns off‑key. They even prayed over the soil, asking the Lord to “wake up the flowers.”
On Easter morning, as the sun rose and the congregation gathered outside, someone gasped.
Tiny green shoots—fresh, bright, unmistakably alive—were pushing through the soil.
Brother Raymond, leaning on his cane, whispered, “I thought it was dead… but it was only waiting.”
Pastor smiled and said, “That’s the message of the Resurrection. What looks finished is not finished. What seems buried is not gone. What appears hopeless is only waiting for the touch of the Living Christ.”
Tears filled Brother Raymond’s eyes as he looked at the children.
“The Lord used them,” he said softly. “He used their hands to remind me that He still brings life out of what I thought was lost.”
And that morning, as the choir sang “He is risen indeed,” the garden behind the church became a living testimony:
Christ still renews.
Christ still restores.
Christ still brings life where we saw none.

🌸 Short Reflection
Just as the garden waited for warmth,
so hearts wait for the touch of the Risen Lord.
And when He speaks life,
nothing stays buried.

🌸 Closing Encouragement for April

“But now is Christ risen from the dead” (1 Corinthians 15:20, KJV).
This is our confidence.
This is our comfort.
This is our courage.

May April be a month of renewed hope, restored strength, and rejoicing in the goodness of our Risen Savior.

An Easter Prayer

 Joshua 1:8
This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

It's About A Miracle

It's About A Miracle

What makes Easter special? A lot a people need to know;
It's about a miracle,  about life, about victory.
Easter is a celebration of the Resurrection;
Jesus is alive and gives life to those to whom believe.

He was put to death upon the old rugged cross of shame.
He hung from the nails, had to lift His body for each breath.
Blood streamed from His thorny crown, gushed from  His side to the ground;
There was only one way for our redemption, through His death.

But rejoice evermore, He arose, He lives , He shall reign.
The stone was rolled away, that shout hallelujah day.
Praise His name, praise His name, Jesus lives now forevermore;
In both our heart and heavenly places we will dwell one day.

Jesus  is the light of life,  He is the Resurrection;
He's the Shepherd of our heart, He leads us in paths true.
Just as Easter comes alive in spring, we see it in ev'rything;
When we believe in  the Resurrection , all thing become new.

Chorus:
It's about a miracle, the miracle of grace, our sins in Him erased.
It's about  love, It's about life, A new life found in Christ.
The Resurrection is the victory,  salvation for all who believe.
A new heart, a new direction, a new birth, a resurrection.

It's about a miracle, the miracle of grace.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah, I Praise the Lord, I'm His"

Glory, Hallelujah,  I Praise the Lord, I'm His"

He died and arose and is coming again, He died and arose and he's coming again,  Hallelujah,  I Praise the Lord, I'm His.
He came to save us, and to forgive us, to wash us from our sins.
All I had to do was believe, trust in what he did for me at Calvary.
He came into my seeking heart,  my heart began to change upon that day.

Death could not prevail, He saves lost people from hell;
The devils tremble at the speaking of His name.
 Belief in Jesus releases the captives from sins chains.
Victory came all because of this...What He came to do for all of His.

His love made a way,  on that great Resurrection day.
When God, Emanuel,  God's only Son, won:
For all who will believe, salvation's victory.
He died and arose and is coming again, He died and arose and he's coming again, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,  I Praise the Lord, I'm His.

He died and arose and is coming again, He died and arose and he's coming again, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,  I Praise the Lord, I'm His.
He came to save us, and to forgive us, to wash us from our sins.
All I had to do was believe, trust in what he did for me at Calvary.
He came into my seeking heart,  my heart began to change upon that day.

He died and arose and is coming again, He died and arose and he's coming again, Hallelujah, Hallelujah,  I Praise the Lord, I'm His.

An Easter Thanksgiving

An Easter Thanksgiving

Every day is Thanksgiving when we are a child of God.
We have every reason to praise Him, if we believe.
Pray and love Him each day, we should give Him glory, give Him praise;
No matter if it's Easter or if it's Christmas Eve.

Let us thank the Lord, in one accord, this Resurrection Day;
Jesus  has loved us more than we have ever been loved before;
Our Lord was torn ,was mocked ,was scorned and died for our sin.
He arose that bright morning never to die again.

Thank-you Jesus for giving your  life as a perfect sacrifice;
We praise your name, you overcame the powers of hell.
 You lit our dark hearts with life and gave us hope forevermore;
You fill our hearts with hopes and dreams, that will never fail.

Thank-you for the arising sun, that speaks of all that you have done;
And each blooming flower that returns from winter's grave.
Thank-you for your blessed Word,  through which you speak and in us stir;
By your grace, the believing , claim your name and are saved.

Every day is Thanksgiving when we  are a child of God.
We have every reason to praise Him, if we believe.
Pray and love Him each day, we should give Him glory, give Him praise;
No matter if it's Easter or if it's Christmas Eve.

Chorus:

Every day is Thanksgiving when we love Jesus.
We should praise Him and love Him each day;
This we know, His joy is aglow, in every thankful  heart.
For in believing,  we have our own resurrection day.

His Love For Us

His Love For Us

God knows we are empty without him.
He knows we don't understand;
He sent us his light, to light up our lives;
And he offers his life saving hands.

See the nail scars in his opened hands?
They were scared for sinful man.
To redeem us with his precious blood;
See the love that drew salvation's plan?

See the scars upon his faithful feet?
They were scared to lead the Way.
To lead us into his righteousness;
And to heaven one bright day.

His side was pierced, his blood flowed free;
The scar is still there to see.
His love for us, bid him die for us;
Oh, the love of Calvary.

His blood was shed, as he hung his head;
The mockers did not perceive.
That God himself, gave himself for us;
He will save all who believe.

They took his torn body from the cross;
On that woeful day of doom.
But glory hallelujah;
He arose from that dark tomb.

The light appeared in that cold dark place;
Where Jesus stood at the door....
Today he offers his nail scared hand;
To be saved forever more.

And  as a new day sun arises;
As new flowers of spring bloom.
So do our hearts in his redeeming;
The day we give him room.

Jesus Knows - Poster

Jesus Knows

Jesus knew He would die;
A merciless death.
He knew they would mock;
With no tenderness.

Jesus  knew the high cost;
And paid it in blood.
As they pounded the nails;
With each sounding thud.

Jesus knew forgiveness;
For those that scourged Him.
And cried for their souls;
As He paid for their sin.

He knew the  great horror:
He would have to face.
He knew He had power;
To leave from its place.

He knew of redemption;
And what it would take.
He freely did suffer;
For yours and my sake.

He  knew He'd have vic'try;
Over deaths sway.
He would conquer the curse;
Resurrection day.

He knows more than your name;
And He knows your shame.
He knows all your burdens;
He knows all your pain.

He knows that He's the Way;
The Light and the Truth.
He knows He's the answer
He's calling to you.

Optional Chorus:

He knows, yes He knows;
He knows your name;

He knew, Yes He knew;
He knew He'd shed;
His precious blood for you.

Oh, God's Glory Hallelujah, Shine On

Oh, God's Glory Hallelujah,  Shine On

Jesus gave His life on Calvary;
To save us from hell's fatality.
Our debt was paid on that cruel cross.
He came to give His life for you and me.

The sun was darkened when Jesus died.
The crowds of people were terrified.
The earth shook and quaked in it's  grieving.
As they watched the death of the King of kings.

Oh, God's glory hallelujah, shine on;
The stone at the tombs entrance was gone.
The sun came up Resurrection morn;
And it was like a new day was born.

Jesus triumphant, defeated death:
He defeated hell, and we are blest.
Glorious morning, Jesus lives;
And He lives forever to forgive.

Just as He has risen from the dead;
Just as he has bruised the devil's head.
He defeated the power of sin.
So you too can come alive in Him.

No longer lost, but found in Jesus;
Oh, the love, He has shed upon us.
Oh, God's glory hallelujah, shine on;
What a wonderful resurrection morn.

 Colossians 2:12
Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Prayer Of Acknowledgement - Resurrection

Prayer Of Acknowledgement

Father God , we rejoice in you today.
Your love has  lifted from sinking sand-
Those who have trusted in your salvation.
Each lost one, reaching out for your hand.

In their sin, they would have perished in darkness;
But you heard their cry for deliverance.
Your mercy has pulled many from their sin.
Now part of your great inheritance.

How loving you are, our Father above;
You could have let us die in our sins.
But you chose to make a way for us:
To  be sons and daughters through Him. (Jesus)

Jesus, precious hope of all who believe;
Jesus, redeemer, died upon the tree.
Jesus, provider of life eternal:
Jesus, Triumphant, risen indeed.

Praise You Lord Jesus
Amen

Did They Say He Was Powerless?

Did They Say He Was Powerless?

As they  platted the thorny crown;
And placed it upon His head.
Did they say He was powerless -
To do anything He said?

As they lifted Him to the cross;
Thrust  nails within His hands.
Did they say He was powerless-
 When the winds know His command?

When the last nail pierced His feet;
Did they cheer at his defeat?
Did they say He was powerless -
When His blood dripped from His feet?

As they mocked and watched Him anguish;
Near His final suffering breath;
Did they say He was powerless -
As they watched life turn to death?

Many arose from the grave of death;
Just after our Savior died.
Did they say He was Powerless -
When the earth was opened wide?

As darkness filled the sky in grief;
Earth shook and opened its graves.
Surely this was the Son of God;
The centurion was saved.

When He was placed within the tomb;
With a  great stone placed before.
Did they say He was powerless -
When He appeared at the door?

It may have looked like His defeat;
As they took His body down.
But Jesus is all powerful;
The power of death was bound.

All death and hell were cast down;
When He arose from the grave.
Jesus is all-powerful ;
And did all to seek and save.

Our Lord was never powerless;
Though it seemed so dark and grim.
And with all power in Jesus name;
We walk in power with Him.

Luke 23: 25

And the people stood beholding. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself if he be Christ, the chosen of God.

Matthew 27: 51-53

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
And the graves were opened, and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,
And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

At The Beginning Of Grace

 Romans 6:14
 For sin shall not have dominion over you:
for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

At The Beginning Of Grace

 They mocked Him and they beat Him;
Slapped Him, Spit upon His face.
Scorned without mercy, they laughed.
Laying  upon Him disgrace.

He was stripped from His clothing;
And shoved, kicked, upon the ground.
Weeping and screaming was heard;
Violence the terr'ble sound.

They gave Him a robe of scarlet;
They platted a crown of thorns.
They placed it upon His head.
Then they laughed a King to scorn.

He could not be recognized;
His beard was plucked from His face.
They removed His royal robe;
In the sight of all debased.

Simon, a Cyrenian;
From the crowds became the cull.
 Followed Jesus with the cross;
Unto the place of the skull.

Then on  Calvary's Hill;
The nails were wedged in his hands.
And pounded into His feet.
His side pierced at hates command.

They sat back and they watch Him.
Then they walked by and scoffed Him;
Upon his dry thirsting lips;
They dabbed vinegar on them.

They nailed a sign of ridicule.
And sarcastically jeered Him.
Who Is This " King Of The Jews"?
Tell me now who will save him?

Father forgive them, he cried;
For they know not what they do.
It is finished, he proclaimed;
When He died for me and you.

Our Savior died amongst thieves;
But one believed and  found grace.
And awoke in paradise;
There beheld our Savior's face.

At the beginning of grace;
Everlasting life was met.
At the beginning of grace;
Our Savior paid our sin debt.

Like a sheep to the slaughter;
He willingly took our place.
On that day long, long ago;
At the beginning of grace.

Your Easter Celebration

Your Easter Celebration

May your Easter celebration;
Be more than fun and food.
May the thoughts  of Christ our Savior;
Bring you joy renewed.

Remembering His faithfulness;
His love, and price He paid.
That  Easter  Day -Resurrection;
Salvation's way was paved.

May it be a day of laughter;
A day of gratefulness.
For the Springtime within the heart.
Because of His forgiveness.

May your Easter celebration;
Point your child to the cross.
For if it is all vanity;
Your child will suffer loss.

May your Easter be a memory;
Your child will hold onto.
A memory of dedication;
For  Christ who died for me and you.
