Happy Easter Sunday

🌿 APRIL DEVOTIONAL & PRAYER

“He Is Risen Indeed” — A Month of Remembering God’s Goodness

🌅 A True, Heart‑Warming Easter Story

On an Easter morning in 1973, a small country church in Tennessee gathered before sunrise on a hill overlooking the valley. Among them was an elderly widow named Mrs. Carter, who had buried her husband only three weeks earlier. Her grief was deep, and her steps were slow, but she came because she said, “I must be where hope rises.”

As the pastor read, “Why seek ye the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen” (Luke 24:5–6, KJV), the sun broke over the ridge. The light fell directly across Mrs. Carter’s face, and she whispered through tears, “The same Jesus who walked out of that tomb will walk me through this valley.”

That morning, something changed in her. Her sorrow didn’t vanish, but her strength returned. She later told the church, “The Resurrection didn’t just happen then—it happens in me every time Christ lifts my heart again.”

Her testimony strengthened the whole congregation. Many still say that sunrise service was the moment they learned that the Resurrection is not only a doctrine—it is a living comfort, a daily promise, a steadying hand for every weary soul.

And it remains true today:
Because He lives, we can face April, and every tomorrow.

Quotes from the Heart

  • “The empty tomb is God’s reminder that no night lasts forever.”
  • “Christ’s Resurrection is the anchor of the grieving and the strength of the fainthearted.”
  • “Where the stone rolled away, hope rolled in.”
  • “The Risen Lord meets us in our weakness and walks with us in renewed strength.”
  • “Grace does not fail; it rises—just as He did.”
  • “Because He lives, faith is never wasted, tears are never unseen, and burdens are never carried alone.”

🕊️ APRIL PRAYER FOR GOD’S BLESSING UPON OUR CHURCH

Heavenly Father,
We come before Thee in this blessed month of April, remembering the triumph of our Risen Lord. We thank Thee for the cross, for the empty tomb, and for the living hope that anchors our souls.

Bless our church with unity, purity, and a renewed desire to serve Thee with gladness. Strengthen the grieving, lift the weary, heal the brokenhearted, and revive every fainting spirit. Let the power of the Resurrection breathe life into every ministry, every family, and every heart.

We pray for our Pastor, that Thou would give him wisdom, courage, and joy in the work of the Lord.
Bless our church family, knitting us together in love.
Bless our homes, that Christ may be honored within our walls.
Bless our country, and guide our President with righteousness and truth.
Protect our Armed Forces, our Police, our Health and Safety Workers, and all who stand in harm’s way for the good of others.
Grant healing to the sick, comfort to the sorrowing, and salvation to the lost.

May we walk in the light of the risen Christ, who conquered death and lives forevermore.
In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.

🫏 A Lighthearted April Smile: Melvin the Lone Donkey

Every year, the children of the church look forward to the “Resurrection Day Parade,” where the little ones carry palm branches and wave them joyfully. But this year, something unexpected happened.

Melvin the Lone Donkey—who normally minds his own business behind the fellowship hall—decided he wanted to participate.

Without warning, he trotted right into the children’s line, proudly braying as if announcing, “Behold, I bring you good tidings of great… hay!”

The children erupted in laughter. One little boy shouted, “Melvin wants to reenact Palm Sunday!”
Melvin, feeling encouraged, made a dramatic bow—only to lose his balance and roll gently onto his side. He wasn’t hurt, but he looked up as if to say, “I meant to do that.”

The whole church laughed, and even Pastor couldn’t keep a straight face.

Later someone joked, “If the Lord could use a donkey in Bible days, He can certainly use Melvin today.”
And truly—God uses even the smallest, funniest moments to bring joy to His people.

Where Hope Rose First”

In April’s quiet morning light,
When dew on blossoms clings,
We hear again the angel’s word—
The song all heaven sings.
The stone was rolled, the grave gave way,
And sorrow lost its throne;
For Christ arose in victory,
And claimed us as His own.
So when our hearts grow faint with care,
Or nights feel long and cold,
We look unto the Risen One—
Our Shepherd strong and bold.
For every April yet to come,
And every tear we shed,
Is held by Him who conquered death
And lives, just as He said.

🎶 A Hymn Stanza for April

Fill our hearts with Easter praise;

Lift our burdens, calm our fear,
Walk beside us, ever near.
By Thy triumph o’er the grave,
Strengthen faith, restore, and save;
Guide Thy church in truth and grace,
Till we see Thee face to face.

🌅 A New Resurrection Story of Renewal

“The Garden Behind the Church”

There was an old garden behind a small country church—nothing fancy, just a patch of earth where the seniors planted flowers every spring. But after a harsh winter, the garden looked hopeless. The soil was hard, the stems were brittle, and every plant seemed beyond saving.
One of the church’s oldest members, Brother Raymond, had tended that garden for nearly thirty years. But this year, he was recovering from surgery and could barely walk without help. He told Pastor, “I don’t think the garden will rise again this spring.”
But on the Saturday before Easter, something unexpected happened.
A group of children from the church—armed with tiny shovels, plastic watering cans, and more enthusiasm than gardening skill—decided they were going to “help the garden resurrect.”
They dug gently. They watered generously. They sang hymns off‑key. They even prayed over the soil, asking the Lord to “wake up the flowers.”
On Easter morning, as the sun rose and the congregation gathered outside, someone gasped.
Tiny green shoots—fresh, bright, unmistakably alive—were pushing through the soil.
Brother Raymond, leaning on his cane, whispered, “I thought it was dead… but it was only waiting.”
Pastor smiled and said, “That’s the message of the Resurrection. What looks finished is not finished. What seems buried is not gone. What appears hopeless is only waiting for the touch of the Living Christ.”
Tears filled Brother Raymond’s eyes as he looked at the children.
“The Lord used them,” he said softly. “He used their hands to remind me that He still brings life out of what I thought was lost.”
And that morning, as the choir sang “He is risen indeed,” the garden behind the church became a living testimony:
Christ still renews.
Christ still restores.
Christ still brings life where we saw none.

🌸 Short Reflection
Just as the garden waited for warmth,
so hearts wait for the touch of the Risen Lord.
And when He speaks life,
nothing stays buried.

🌸 Closing Encouragement for April

“But now is Christ risen from the dead” (1 Corinthians 15:20, KJV).
This is our confidence.
This is our comfort.
This is our courage.

May April be a month of renewed hope, restored strength, and rejoicing in the goodness of our Risen Savior.

🌿 The Day the Schoolhouse Lantern Kept Burning

A true early‑1900s story from rural Minnesota

That March, a late blizzard swept across the prairie. Snow piled against doors, and the wind howled like a living thing. Most families kept their children home, but Miss Jensen still walked the mile from her boarding house to the schoolhouse, lantern in hand, pushing through drifts nearly to her knees.
When she arrived, she found two children waiting on the steps—siblings named Henry and Lottie, whose father worked long hours at the grain mill. They had walked nearly a mile themselves, bundled in coats patched with flour sacks.
Miss Jensen opened the door, lit the stove, and warmed their hands by the fire. With only three people present, she could have sent them home. Instead, she said, “If you came all this way, then we will learn—and we will keep the light burning.”
She read scripture aloud before lessons, as she often did, choosing Psalm 46:1 that morning:
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
The storm raged outside, but inside the schoolhouse, the lantern glowed, the stove crackled, and the three of them worked through arithmetic, penmanship, and a short reading from McGuffey’s Reader.
By afternoon, the wind had calmed. Henry and Lottie’s father arrived with a team of horses to bring them home. When he saw the lantern still burning in the window, he wiped his eyes and said, “Ma’am, you kept more than a school open today. You kept hope alive.”
For years afterward, townsfolk would point to that little schoolhouse and say:
“As long as the lantern burns, we keep marching on.”

🌿 Prayer for Endurance and Continuing in the Work of God

Father in Heaven,
In the quiet places of our hearts, we come to You for strength. You know the weight we carry, the battles we face, and the moments when our steps feel slow and heavy. Yet You are the God who renews the weary and breathes courage into those who keep pressing on.

Give us endurance for the path before us. Steady our minds when discouragement whispers. Strengthen our hands when the work feels long. Remind us that every act of faith, every prayer lifted, every kindness offered, and every burden carried in Your name is seen by You and treasured in Heaven.

Help us continue—not in our own strength, but in Yours. Let Your Word be our guide, Your Spirit our helper, and Your promises our anchor. When we grow tired, lift us. When we feel alone, surround us. When we are tempted to give up, remind us that You walk beside us, step by step.

🌿 The Morning the Bell Rang Anyway

A brief true story from rural Georgia, 1903

In 1903, the tiny farming town of Pine Grove, Georgia, gathered each Sunday at a little wooden church shaded by pecan trees. The church bell usually rang at 9:00 sharp, pulled by Mr. Amos Carter, an elderly deacon whose name appears in early county church records.
One March morning, a heavy fog settled over the fields. The roads were soft with mud, and most families assumed services would be canceled. But at 8:45, a faint, steady sound drifted through the mist—the church bell was ringing.
A few neighbors stepped outside, surprised. Through the fog they saw Amos Carter, nearly seventy years old, walking slowly toward the church with his cane in one hand and the bell rope in the other. He had come early, determined to ring the bell even if no one else arrived.
When asked later why he walked so far in such weather, he simply said, “If the Lord gives me breath, the bell will keep calling His people.”
By the time the fog lifted, a small group had gathered—just a handful of families—but they worshiped with a quiet joy that stayed in the town’s memory for years. The church ledger for that day contains a single handwritten note:
“Attendance small. Faith strong.”
And long after Amos Carter passed, Pine Grove families would smile whenever the fog rolled in and say:
“Ring the bell anyway—just like old Amos did.”.

🐴 Melvin the Donkey and the Great Grass Mix‑Up

A lighthearted springtime laugh
Melvin the Donkey woke up one bright March morning absolutely convinced—convinced—that the grass tasted different. He took one bite, chewed thoughtfully, and squinted at the field like a food critic judging a fancy restaurant.
Sister Hattie, hanging laundry nearby, called out, “Melvin, what are you doing now?”
Melvin sniffed dramatically and brayed,
“Hee‑haw means: Someone changed the recipe!”
He marched across the yard, inspecting every patch of grass like a detective. He sniffed the clover. He examined the dandelions. He even glared suspiciously at a confused squirrel.
Finally, he plopped down with a huff.
Sister Hattie walked over, trying not to laugh. “Melvin, the grass is the same as yesterday.”
Melvin blinked slowly, then brayed again:
“Hee‑haw means: I knew that. I was just… checking.”
And with that, he strutted off—ears high, tail swishing—pretending he had solved a very important mystery.
The squirrel, however, remained unconvinced.

🐴 Melvin & Melvina and the Mysterious Noise

A lighthearted duo moment
Melvina the Lone Donkey was enjoying a peaceful spring morning, nibbling clover and pretending she was supervising the entire church yard. Suddenly—CLUNK!—a loud noise echoed from behind the tool shed.
Melvina froze. Her ears shot straight up like two alarm antennas.
She whispered, “Hee‑haw means: Danger is near!”
Then Melvin trotted out from behind the shed wearing… a metal bucket on his head.
Melvina blinked. “Melvin… what are you doing?”
Melvin brayed proudly, “Hee‑haw means: I invented a helmet!”
He strutted around, the bucket wobbling with every step. “Now I’m ready for anything—storms, squirrels, falling leaves—nothing can stop me!”
Melvina sighed the sigh of a donkey who has seen too much. “Melvin, you can’t even see where you’re going.”
“I don’t need to see,” Melvin declared. “I’m marching on by faith!”
He took one confident step forward and walked directly into the fence.
CLANG!
Melvina shook her head. “Hee‑haw means: Faith is good… but so are eye holes.”
Melvin peeked out from under the bucket, dazed but smiling. “Good idea. I’ll invent those next.”
And with that, the two donkeys marched on—Melvina with dignity, Melvin with a dented bucket, and the fence with a brand‑new wobble.

🌿 Short Prayer for Endurance

Lord, give me strength for the steps ahead. When I grow tired, renew my spirit. When I feel discouraged, steady my heart. Help me continue in Your work with faith, love, and courage. Walk with me, guide me, and keep me marching on in Your grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🌿 Devotion: The Stone That Stayed in Place

A Moment to Reflect

Early spring often brings soft rains that loosen the soil and shift the small stones scattered along a garden path. Yet every gardener knows there are a few stones that never seem to move—no matter the storm, no matter the season. They stay right where they are, steady and unmoved.

That simple stone becomes a quiet picture of endurance in the Christian life. While everything around it shifts, it remains where it was placed.

The Object Lesson

Hold a small stone in your hand. Notice its weight, its firmness, its quiet strength. A stone does not resist the storm by fighting it; it endures by simply remaining where it was set.

In the same way, God calls His people to remain steadfast—not by striving in their own strength, but by resting in the place He has set them.

Scripture for the Heart

1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV)
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…”

This verse is not a command to be strong on our own. It is an invitation to anchor ourselves in the One who never moves.

A Gentle Reading Suggestion

Spend a few quiet minutes with Psalm 62, especially verses 5–8. Notice how often David calls God his rock, defense, and refuge. Let the repetition settle into your spirit like a steady heartbeat.

A Closing Thought

Storms will come. Seasons will change. But the soul that rests in Christ can remain steady, unshaken, and faithful. Like the stone that stays in place, endurance grows not from our effort, but from our foundation.

🌷 GOD IS GOOD

In the early spring of 1938, long before tractors hummed across every field and before electricity reached the farthest farms, there lived a widow named Mrs. Eliza Harper. Her little white farmhouse sat at the edge of a valley where the snow melted slowly and the robins always returned first.

Eliza had known many hard winters, but that year had been the hardest. The coal bin was nearly empty by February, and the pantry shelves looked bare enough to echo. Still, every morning she lit her small kitchen stove, warmed her hands, and whispered the same prayer:

“Help me, Lord Jesus. You have never failed me yet.”

One chilly March morning, she stepped outside to check the clothesline. The air still held winter’s bite, but the sun had a new warmth to it. As she stood there, she noticed something she hadn’t seen in years—
a single green shoot pushing up beside the porch steps.

A tulip.

Her late husband had planted bulbs along that porch the first spring after they married. Most had long since disappeared, but this one—this brave little stem—had survived.

Eliza knelt beside it, touched the tender leaf, and felt tears warm her cheeks.

“Lord,” she whispered, “You remember me.”

That same afternoon, as she was sweeping the kitchen floor, she heard the crunch of wagon wheels on the gravel drive. It was Mr. Thompson, the storekeeper from town.

“Mrs. Harper,” he called, stepping down from his wagon, “we had an overstock of flour and beans at the store. Thought you might be able to use some.”

Behind him were two full sacks of flour, a crate of canned peaches, a bag of potatoes, and a bundle of firewood tied with rope.

Eliza pressed a hand to her heart.
“But I didn’t order anything.”

Mr. Thompson smiled kindly.
“No ma’am. But the Lord put you on someone’s mind.”

When he drove away, Eliza stood on her porch, the tulip at her feet, the sun warming her shoulders, and the goodness of God filling her home like spring air through an open window.

That night, she wrote in her worn journal:

“March 12, 1938 — Today the Lord reminded me that His goodness does not depend on my strength, but on His love. Winter may linger, but God is good, and spring always comes.”

And for the rest of her days, whenever someone felt discouraged, Eliza would smile softly and say:

“Child, don’t you worry. I’ve seen God send tulips through frozen ground.”

🐴💐 Melvina’s Springtime Makeover Mishap

A Funny Melvina Donkey Story — Second Choice

Spring had arrived in Pinebark Valley, and the whole town was buzzing about the Annual Flower Festival. Everyone was decorating wagons, porches, and even bicycles with tulips, daisies, and ribbons.

Everyone… except Melvina.

Melvina the Lone Donkey watched from the fence line, feeling a little left out. She wanted to be part of the festival too — but nobody had asked her to help decorate anything. And Melvina was not the type to wait for an invitation.

So she decided to decorate herself.

First, she wandered over to Mrs. Poppywell’s garden and gently plucked a tulip with her teeth.
Then another.
Then another.

By the time she was done, she had an entire bouquet sticking out of her mane like a flowery mohawk.

Next, she trotted to the church yard where the children had left a basket of ribbons. Melvina stuck her nose in, came up with three ribbons tangled around her ears, and proudly shook her head until they fluttered like flags.

Feeling fabulous, she strutted down Main Street.

People gasped.
Children pointed.
Sister Hattie nearly dropped her lemonade.

“Good heavens!” she cried. “Melvina looks like she fell into a craft store!”

Melvina brayed proudly and kept walking — until a sudden gust of wind blew through town.

The tulips flew off her head.
The ribbons whipped around her ears.
And Melvina, startled, took off running straight through the festival grounds.

She dashed past the pie table.
She zoomed around the quilting booth.
She galloped through the tulip archway, leaving petals swirling behind her like confetti.

Finally, she skidded to a stop in front of the judges’ stand — covered in ribbons, leaves, and exactly one tulip stuck to her tail.

The judges stared.

Then the head judge burst out laughing.

“Well,” he said, wiping his eyes, “I’ve never seen anything like it… but I think we have our winner for Most Creative Spring Display!”

And that’s how Melvina the Lone Donkey became the first — and probably the last — donkey to win a ribbon at the Pinebark Valley Flower Festival..

🙏 Prayer for Trusting God and Abounding in His Work

(Inspired by 1 Corinthians 15:58, Proverbs 3:5–6, and Psalm 37:5 — KJV)

Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts that long to trust and hands that long to serve.
Teach us to lean not on our own understanding, but to trust in You with all our heart.
Help us to commit our way unto You, knowing You shall bring it to pass.

When the path feels uncertain, remind us that You are faithful.
When the work feels heavy, remind us that our labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Give us grace to abound — not just to serve, but to serve with joy, with love, and with steadfastness.

Let us be unmovable in our faith, always abounding in Your work,
knowing that every act of kindness, every prayer, every song of praise
is seen by You and used for Your glory.

We trust You, Lord — with our plans, our burdens, our future.
And we thank You for the strength to keep going,
for the peace that passes understanding,
and for the promise that You are working all things together for good.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

🌿 Prayer for Today

This Picture Is for This Post Only

🌿 Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father,

We come before Thee today with grateful hearts, seeking Thy peace in every thought, Thy strength in every step, and Thy encouragement in every moment. Quiet the noise around us and calm the storms within us. Let Thy presence settle upon us like gentle morning light.

Lord, when our hearts feel weary, lift us up.
When our minds feel troubled, steady us.
When our spirits feel faint, breathe new life into us.

Thy Word declares,
“The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.”
Psalm 29:11

Let that promise rest upon us today.

Guide our steps with wisdom.
Guard our hearts with peace.
Fill our homes with kindness, and our thoughts with hope.
Help us to walk in quiet confidence, knowing Thou art with us.

May Thy joy be our strength,
Thy love our comfort,
Thy grace our encouragement for the day ahead.

A Prayer for Our Police, Firefighters, Hospital Workers, and Government Workers

Heavenly Father,
We lift before You the men and women who serve our communities every day with courage, skill, and sacrifice.

We pray for our Police Officers.
Protect them as they stand between danger and safety.
Give them wisdom in every decision, strength in every challenge,
and integrity that shines like a light in dark places.
Guard their families with peace while they serve.

We pray for our Firefighters.
Bless those who run toward flames, storms, and emergencies.
Steady their hands, strengthen their bodies,
and surround them with Your shield of protection.
Give them rest after long nights and courage for every call.

We pray for our Hospital Workers.
For doctors, nurses, EMTs, technicians, and all who care for the sick—
renew their strength, calm their minds, and fill their hearts with compassion.
Let healing flow through their hands,
and let Your peace cover them in every shift.

We pray for our Government Workers.
Guide them with honesty, fairness, and clarity.
Help them serve with humility and purpose,
seeking the good of the people and the wisdom that comes from You.
Let integrity rise in every office and truth lead every decision.

Lord, bless all who serve our communities.
Keep them safe, keep them strong,
and let Your hand rest upon them and their families.
We thank You for their sacrifice,
and we ask Your protection over them each day.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Here is a strong, reverent, unified prayer for our Armed Forces, our Nation, and our President — written in that warm, steady tone you love for bulletins and worship settings.

A Prayer for Our Armed Forces, Our Nation, and Our President

Almighty God,
We come before You with burdened hearts, lifting our nation into Your faithful hands.
We pray for our Armed Forces — for every soldier, sailor, airman, Marine, and guardian.
Surround them with Your protection, steady their minds, strengthen their bodies,
and let Your peace guard their hearts wherever they serve.
Grant courage to those in danger, rest to those who are weary,
and comfort to every family who waits and prays at home.

Lord, we lift our nation to You.
Heal our divisions, guide our people, and let righteousness rise like morning light.
Bless our communities with safety, compassion, and wisdom.
Let truth, justice, and mercy be the foundation of our land.

We pray also for our President.
Grant him clarity of mind, humility of heart, and strength to lead with honest integrity.
Surround him with wise counselors, protect his family,
and guide every decision with Your sovereign hand.
Let Your will be done in our nation, and let Your peace rest upon us.

Father, keep us faithful, keep us grateful,
and keep us walking in Your light.
In Jesus’ holy name, Amen.

Hooty The Owl and Friend Presents To You: “Brightfeather and the Two Paths”

Hooty The Owl and Friend Presents To You:
“Brightfeather and the Two Paths

INVITATION INTRO

Step into the moonlit forest where ancient trees whisper truth, and every shadow holds a lesson. Follow a young owl named Brightfeather as he journeys through the Valley of Forking Paths, where one trail glitters with worldly promises and the other glows with the steady light of God’s wisdom. This is a story of courage, discernment, and choosing the path that leads to life. Come—spread your wings and discover the wonder of walking in God’s Holy Ways.

🦉 THE STORY: “Brightfeather and the Two Paths”

A Pilgrim’s Progress–style Owl Allegory

In the high boughs of Pineberry Woods lived a young owl named Brightfeather, known for his keen eyes and eager heart. His mother often told him, “The forest is full of paths, my son. Some shine brightly but lead to sorrow, and some look plain but lead to truth.” Brightfeather listened, but he longed to explore the world beyond the nest.

One crisp evening, as the moon rose like a silver lantern, Brightfeather heard a gentle voice calling from the wind: “Seek the Path of Wisdom, and you will find life.” The words stirred him deeply. He spread his wings and glided into the night, determined to discover this path for himself.

Soon he reached the Valley of Forking Paths, where two trails stretched before him. The first glittered with golden leaves, glowing mushrooms, and sparkling stones. A sign read: “The Path of Worldly Wisdom — Quick, Easy, Impressive.” The second path was narrow, simple, and lined with humble wildflowers. Its sign read: “The Path of Godly Wisdom — Trust, Truth, and Steadfast Steps.”

Brightfeather hesitated. The glittering path shimmered with excitement. Owls from distant trees swooped toward it, boasting of shortcuts, fame, and effortless success. Their feathers sparkled unnaturally, as if dipped in starlight. “Come with us!” they called. “Why struggle on the narrow path when this one gives you everything you want?”

But from the quieter path came a soft, steady glow—like moonlight resting on still water. An older owl named Sagewing perched nearby. “Young one,” he said kindly, “the glittering path shines only for a moment. Its light is borrowed, not true. But the narrow path is lit by the wisdom of the Maker. It may be hard, but it leads to joy.”

Brightfeather’s heart tugged in two directions. The worldly path promised excitement and applause. The godly path promised truth and peace. He closed his eyes and remembered his mother’s words: “Ask the Lord for wisdom, and He will guide your steps.” When he opened them, he noticed something he hadn’t seen before—tiny footprints of other faithful owls leading down the narrow trail.

Choosing courage over comfort, Brightfeather stepped onto the Path of Godly Wisdom. Immediately the glittering path behind him flickered, dimmed, and revealed its true nature—thorny vines, hidden pits, and traps disguised as treasures. The owls who had rushed toward it struggled, tangled in snares they never saw coming

As Brightfeather continued, the path grew steep. Dark clouds rolled in, and the wind howled through the branches. For a moment he wondered if he had chosen wrongly. But then Sagewing appeared beside him, steady as a rock. “Wisdom does not always feel easy,” he said. “But it is always right.”

Together they climbed until they reached the Hill of Clear Sight, where the clouds parted and the moon shone brighter than ever. From this height, Brightfeather could see the entire forest. The worldly path twisted into darkness, ending in a deep ravine. But the godly path wound upward toward a peaceful meadow filled with light.

Brightfeather’s heart swelled with gratitude. “I see now,” he said softly. “The right path isn’t the one that looks easiest—it’s the one that leads me closer to the Maker.” Sagewing nodded. “And now you will help others choose wisely.”

As dawn broke, Brightfeather returned to the Whispering Woods. Younger owls gathered around him, eager for stories. He told them of the two paths, the glittering traps, and the steady glow of God’s wisdom. His feathers no longer shone with borrowed light—they glowed with the quiet strength of truth.

From that day on, Brightfeather became a guide to many, pointing them toward the narrow path that leads to life. And whenever a young owl hesitated at the Valley of Forking Paths, they would hear his gentle call echoing through the trees: “Choose the path of wisdom, little one. It may be narrow, but it leads you home.”

Choosing the Path of Wisdom

A Devotional Inspired by Brightfeather’s Journey

Key Scripture:

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 (KJV)

🦉 Devotional Thought

Brightfeather stood at a fork in the forest, just as we often stand at crossroads in life. One path glittered with excitement and ease, promising quick rewards. The other was narrow and simple, offering no flashy promises—only the steady glow of truth. Like Brightfeather, we face choices every day: Will we follow what looks good, or what is good? Godly wisdom helps us see beyond the glitter of worldly shortcuts and choose the path that leads to life. When we trust God’s Word and listen to His voice, He guides our steps, even when the way is steep or uncertain.

🌿 Life Application

  • Godly wisdom may not always look exciting, but it is always right.
  • Worldly wisdom often sparkles, but its shine fades quickly.
  • God’s path leads to peace, clarity, and lasting joy.
  • When unsure which way to go, pause and pray—God delights in guiding His children.

🔍 Reflection Questions

  1. What “glittering paths” tempt you to choose what looks easy instead of what is right?
  2. How can you practice listening for God’s wisdom each day?
  3. Who has been a “Sagewing” in your life—someone who points you toward God’s path?
  4. What step of obedience can you take today to walk the narrow path?

🙏 Prayer

Dear Lord, help me choose the path of wisdom. When the world sparkles with false promises, give me discernment. When the narrow path feels hard, give me courage. Lead me by Your Word and guide my steps, that I may walk in Your truth all my days. Amen. If there is anyone who needs to know you today help them understand that Jesus is The Only Way of Salvation

📖 Supporting Scriptures

  • Psalm 119:105 — “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
  • Matthew 7:14 — “Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life.”
  • Proverbs 9:10 — “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.”
  • Job 12:7 — “Ask now the beasts… and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee.”

🌟 Would You Like to Know Jesus as Your Savior? Choosing The Right Path

Dear child,
God loves you more than you can imagine. He made you, He sees you, and He wants you to be His forever.

But the Bible says we’ve all done wrong things — that’s called sin. Sin separates us from God.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23

Even one sin is serious. The punishment for sin is death — being apart from God forever.

“For the wages of sin is death…” — Romans 6:23a

But here’s the good news:
God sent His Son, Jesus, to take that punishment for you. Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again — so you could be forgiven and saved.

“…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23b
“Christ died for our sins… he was buried… he rose again the third day.” — 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

Jesus did everything needed to save you. Now He offers you a free gift — eternal life.
You don’t earn it by being good. You receive it by trusting Him.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith… it is the gift of God.” — Ephesians 2:8

If you believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again, and you want Him to be your Savior, you can call on Him right now.

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” — Romans 10:13

🕊️ A Simple Prayer of Faith

“Dear Jesus, I know I’ve sinned. I believe You died for me and rose again.
Please forgive me and save me. I trust You as my Savior.
Thank You for loving me. Amen.”

If you’ve trusted Jesus today, that’s the most important decision you’ll ever make.
You are now part of God’s family — forever loved, forever His.
