His Reflection

His Reflection

By: Susan Y Nikitenko   2009©

Here’s my best silver, glistening;
All polished, like new, it’s fine.
It took me many, many hours;
To see my own reflection shine.

Each piece, has an amazing story;
Of change in fire and flame.
Each unique piece must be tested;
Not one, beautiful piece is the same.

When it was carefully molded;
And all imperfections removed.
The silversmith closely watched it;
And skillfully made it smooth.

Placed in the hot spot of the heat;
It’s placed in the rolling fire.
The silversmith planned and purposed;
Each piece for his artistic desire.

Turning it, he handled it with care;
Removing all impurity.
Making works of art to be enjoyed;
As each one shines so beautifully.

This is our Saviors great desire.
In His grand and perfect design;
To purify us, through test and fire.
In His radiant grace we’ll shine.

His reflection, will be seen by all.
Our lives will reflect His loving face.
And when they see, His true love;
The truth of God, they will embrace.

We are dull silver in need of His shine;
Without Him we’re nothing but dross.
May I reflect His wonderful Grace;
And lead other souls to cross.

World Within

 World Within

Oh, The beauty of the forest streams;
Where high above the eagle screams,
And from the mountains echoes call;
I hear a distant waterfall.

I walk the rocks along the stream;
I ponder this a wondrous scene.
Natures smells and sights and sounds;
God’s blessings everywhere abound.

Pink Rhododendron in full bloom;
I bow to smell it’s sweet perfume,
And As my eyes lift up I see;
There stands a deer, he looks at me.

He stands just by the waters edge;
To watch him drink a privilege.
Then off he runs through yonder trees;
And disappears through forest leaves.

I feel so very blessed today;
To see His wonders on display.
For through them He calls out to man;
“I have a purpose, I have a plan.”

For by design He made us all.
The fields, the trees, and mountains tall.
The deer beside the flowing stream;
Speaks of our God who can Redeem.

When the thunderbolts bring rain;
When whipping winds swirl cross the plains.
It's in the harshness of rolling storms;
Our God rebuilds, remolds, transforms.

For in this world of natures thrills;
Like flowers spread across the hills.
There is a world that’s set a apart;
It is the world within your heart.

What world does now abide in you?
A place of peace and morning dew?
Or thirsting desert wasting ‘way.
That lives in night, while it is day?

Or troubled, drowning in a sea;
Crying out, Oh God, Save Me?
Or in a tear filled day of grief;
Does Your heart beg for God's relief?

Content are you, within His care?
Or find that now your heart is bare?
Remember friend, He's always there.
Let not your bitter heart ensnare.

And as He touched this world with all;
It’s blessing, like the waterfall.
He’ll touch the heart that trust in Him;
With His sweet peace and rest within.

Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
