Just A Little Note From My Past -

Just A Note From My Past

Tongues

Six or seven years ago a girl from Uzbekistan was attending our church.  She was a foreign exchange student who could speak broken English and was very hard to understand by almost everyone in our church.  I'm not sure why, but I could understand her, maybe because I took the time to understand.

One night we went to a youth conference where a black preacher was going to be preaching and boy could that preacher preach.  There was only one problem though, during a break the girl came up to me and said I don't understand anything the preacher is saying.  I said Masha,  if you can't understand just ask God to help you understand.

Soon we were back settled in our seats to hear the booming preacher.  He had a "Preachin' Storm Goin' On'.  as he said.  Many kids went forward afterwards, many renewing and there were many saved.  Masha had taken notes the entire service and seemingly could understand.  Afterwards I asked her if she understood.  She told me an amazing thing, she could hear the preacher just as clearly as if it were in her own language.

If I have had  any experience at all with tongues that was the day.  in the Bible the people could hear the preaching in their own language.  A language that could be understood.

Correction:  Last I heard she was attending a good church on a regular basis.

His Way Is The Way For Me

His Way Is The Way For Me

 I don't believe in handlin' snakes;
Nor speakin' in some unknown tongue.
I believe In  the blood of Jesus;
And that He is the promised one.

I believe in workin' hard in life;
I believe in husband and wife.
I believe our Lord blesses his children;
When they remain faithful in life.

I don't believe in polygamy;
Nor livin' in a worldly way.
I believe in livin' for Jesus;
Livin' by His Word Everyday

Not FOR homosexuallity;
Nor shackin up with somebody.
I guess I really am old fashioned;
And that's the way I want to be.

Jesus is the only way to heaven;
Our own works just won't get us there.
But God does want us to maintain them;
He wants us to show that we care.

Jesus provided the way that day.
When He paid your sin debt for free.
If that isn't love I don't know what is;
Ohhh,  His Way is the Way for me.

His Way is the only Way to heaven;
There just isn't some other Way.
Jesus paid the price at Calvary.
I'm goin' with Him on Judgment day.

Ohhh,  His Way is the Way for me.

We Love You

We Love You

 We love you , help us to love you more.
Jesus, Oh Jesus, Redeemer, Friend.
Mend our hearts broken tattered and sad.
Let your joy come shining through again.

We love you, help us serve you well;
Jesus, Oh Jesus, Wonderful Lord.
Keep our hearts shielded and close to you;
As we live in this sin cursed world.

We love you, help us to praise you Lord;
In how we love and how we live.
Keep our hearts in your presence each day;
And help us always to forgive.

We love you , help us to love you more.
Jesus, Oh Jesus, Redeemer, Friend.
Work in us your will and your purpose;
And bring us revival again.

In The Name Of Jesus

In The Name Of Jesus

 In the name of Jesus ;
I pray for you brother.
In the name of Jesus;
I pray for you mother.

I pray for you sisters;
And I pray for my friends.
I pray the Lord bless you;
With blessing of Him.

I pray for the families;
That are struggling today.
Bless them with wisdom;
As they live life each day.

In His most  precious name;
His promises are claimed.
Prayer for the sickly;
And prayer for the lame.

Prayer for the swaddling;
That is soon to be born.
Prayer for the weary.
And prayer for the worn.

 Prayer  for neglected;
And the forgotten ones.
Prayer for the wayward;
Of our daughters and sons.

Prayer for the needy;
Who are needy indeed.
Prayer for the lost soul;
With you as thier need.

Prayer for the hopeless;
To find hope again.
Prayer for the grieving;
To gently heal them.

In the name of Jesus;
In a prayer of faith.
Answer my prayers Lord;
In the light of your grace.

We Belong To Jesus

We Belong To Jesus

Sing a song to Jesus ;
Who died to make us free.
Sing a song victorious;
And live courageously.

We belong to Jesus;
In his enduring love.
He gave himself a ransom;
And now our homes above.

Sing a song to Jesus;
Our precious love and friend.
Who leads us through  the battle;
Who gives us strength again.

We belong to Jesus;
And soon he'll take us home.
And in his arms of comfort;
We'll never feel alone.

Sing a song to Jesus;
Let our hearts be joyous.
He is our comforter;
He will never leave us;

We belong to Jesus;
Our hope is evermore.
His mercy unending;
Our soul in him secure.

We belong to Jesus.

Our salvation is sure only if we have trusted the right things for salvation.

 1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

I Know The Pride Of Your Heart

 I Know The Pride Of Your Heart

 In one of the Bible stories of David the shepherd boy, David was sent by his father to check on his brothers.  His brothers were fighting with the army of Israel against the Philistines.  He watched as Israel's mighty men cowardly resisted the challenging giant Goliath. Goliath taunted them and yelled words to stir up fear in their hearts.  He was huge and intimidating.

David's brother reacted to David being there and said these words. " I know the pride of your heart."
But his brother was wrong.  His courage in what the Lord could do through him, seemed as pride to his brother, but instead it was courage and faith.  God had given David great strength to overcome something way stronger than himself on more than one occasion.  David had spent hours upon hours singing praises and meditating upon the things of the Lord while watching over the flock.  Then one day a bear endangered the flock, but David did not fear and killed the bear with his bare hands.  Then on another  alarming day a lion threatened their lives , but David was filled with the courage of the Lord and  God empowered David to overcome his enemy.

David knew the Lord was with him and he had no fear as he stood against the mighty Goliath.  All the men in Israel's army  watched as God used someone much smaller and weaker than they.  He may have been smaller and seemingly less important to them, but God chose the weaker and turned him into a leader.

So many people are so ready to judge another person's motives just as David's brother judged his motives.  He really didn't know his brother at all even though he knew him most of his life.  David was not bragging that he was able to kill huge ferocious animals with his bare hands.  Nor was he bragging when he was ready to stand before the Giant Goliath.  He was empowered by what he knew God could and did through him.  He was a witness of how God can use anyone who will believe in what God can do and who will have courage enough to be the one to make the difference.

Don't be so quick to judge another's heart or their motives.  Sometimes you can't see the whole picture
but God knows the heart.  David's judgment of his brother was wrong.  I wonder how many times we as Christians have accused someone of pride and we were wrong.    David's brother was the guilty one when it came to pride, because he felt more important than his brother.

1 Samuel 17:17-20

And Jesse said unto David his son, Take now for thy brethren an ephah of this parched corn, and these ten loaves, and run to the camp to thy brethren;
 And carry these ten cheeses unto the captain of their thousand, and look how thy brethren fare, and take their pledge.
 Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel, were in the valley of Elah, fighting with the Philistines.
And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took, and went, as Jesse had commanded him; and he came to the trench, as the host was going forth to the fight, and shouted for the battle.

1 Samuel 17:28 And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.

 1 John 4:21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

God Put Love Into Creation

God Put Love Into Creation

God made the heavens and the earth;
That's good enough for me.
He made  the planets and the stars;
And the great galaxies.

No accidents ever happened;
It was all by design.
Every single little thing;
Even a  diamond mine.

God made the wondrous things of earth;
Things more than exquisite.
The mountains and the waterfalls;
Each thing so delicate.

Each artistic vibrant flower;
That blooms upon this earth.
Each budding tree of the springtime;
The tiny kitten's purr.

God put love into creation;
He had you and I in mind.
He gave us a world of miracles;
And there's still more to find.

Each day I see my children smile;
Or see the morning sun.
Just knowing music can be played;
That too is heaven made.

So when you feel like questioning;
If God's love is there.
Just take  a look at all He's made;
With hands of love and care.

Psalms 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

Jesus Is My Valentine - 2 Different Poems

I just realized I used happy Valentine in my other poem  - but for me to be happy, it had to come from my Saviour who makes us happy. I remember a child's song from way back called.  "Happiness is the Lord".
I sang it as a child.  I have never forgotten that little song.  Songs make a big difference in a child's life.
Hopefully we fill their hearts with songs that will help them be good people.  More importantly with songs
that help them live for the Lord and to love Him more.

Let Our Lips Thank Him

Let Our Lips Thank Him

 Let our lips thank Him continually;
For all He is and all He's done.
Undeserving of His great love are we;
So let us rejoice in His Son.
-----
Jesus, precious Saviour ,who saved our lives;
You pulled us from darkness and shame;
We praise you because you are  merciful;
Today  we praise your holy name.

Jesus, gentle shepherd who has led the way;
Who  has guided us safely on.
We praise you because you are faithfulness;
Because in  you our sins are gone.

Jesus, creator of the universe;
Who  knows each one of us by name.
We praise you because you are wonderful;
And have washed us from ev'ry stain.

Jesus, our friend, our comfort and councilor;
Who has shed your blood for our sin.
We will rejoice always for what you have done;
You laid down your life for all men.

Our lips will thank you continually;
For all you  are and all you've done.
Undeserving of your  great love are we;
Precious  Redeemer Righteous One.
